Here's my friend's transcript from preclearance in Abudhabi Fast forward to secondary inspection CBP: hello, y r u going to the Us? Friend : childbirth and vacation CBP: but I can see here that you renewed via dropbox and you stated you were going for holiday in May and this is August Friend: yes sir, my husband wanted to go for holiday in May when we renewed our visas so he used the same information for both of us CBP: I see you also had your first baby in the US, can I see receipts and she handed it to him CBP: have you contacted a DR and what hospital do you intend to use Friend: she mentioned hosp name and handed over the birth package.. that was the beginning of the problem CBP: you gave me a package from 2014 and my friend insisted that it must have been an error as the Dr sent it to her not long ago. He asked them to go sit and he came back to her saying the Dr said she didn't give her anything of such. To cut the story sha, she showed him the email on her fone but still doubted it and said he had to go talk to his superior. CBP: I see that when u applied in 2014 you didn't also say you were going for childbirth and you only declared when the VO asked you if you will be using the visa for childbirth and your response was if granted visa, I will like to have my baby in the US. You got to the US and stayed there for 3months meaning you didn't use the visa for the purpose. Friend: sir, when I got to the US, I decided to use the opportunity to look for a hospital and after I met with the DR, she insisted that I shouldn't go back. I was due in March and baby came early February. CBP: well I might have to send you back to Apply for B2 cos you should have stated it during renewal this time and my friend said there was no option for that then CBP said why are u talking about option when you told me your husband filled the form? Friend: I know becos I helped my mum fill her form sir before she knew it their boxes were brought to them and they started searching evrything piece by piece but they found nothing in their boxes. CBP: so where will you all(husband, mum, son n herslf) be staying in d US? Friend: my uncle's plc and he's a medical DR. CBP: how long do u intend to stay there? Friend: 2months sir CBP: I'm going to give u 2 extra days to leave the US then he stamped her husband and her mum in for 6months. In my opinion, twas a narrow one cos she told me that the CBP said he only let her go cos his superior said so and he must ve called them over 15times to ask diff questions. He only let them go 15mins before departure.. she said they were there for 3hrs in total. 5 Likes |

Lesson to Learn. When applying for dropbox, kuku fill hospital and doctor name. CBPs are not smiling again for the ' I didn't see space to declare childbirth' story 3 Likes |

Iru oshisko rada rada wo ni yen? Sorry for my Yoruba, just dont know how to express myself in English. I am just amazed that someone would do that to herself because of money. I booked Arik to save cost and other reasons but as prudent as I am I know that sometimes you just have to spend money to save yourself stress. As it is, its still paining me that I booked hotel of 300dollars to spend the day after landing in NY in order to rest before taking off early next morning. I am gonna be paying for 2nights is why its that much. Abi my people, how am I gonna clear POE by 6am and wait till 3pm to check in to hotel with toddler, belle and grandma? I had to book the previous night join so we can get check in early morning. No be by force to born for America now, as it is; a lot of people have high bp on getting there because of the long flights we take not to now talk of 16hour bus ride! Virtuousdiva: 3 Likes |

Where are the lawyers Is this even legal to hold a pregnant woman that long. Or to deport a pregnant woman? What about emotional trauma. Or stress induced htn or problems related to pregnancy... I know it's their right they determine who enters... But is this legal? |

firsttymum:actually different laws in different countries, what is a law in America no be law for Nigeria, on another note law & sentiment don't mix at all, ignorance is never an excuse in the sight of the law ,so the law has to be enforced whatsoever, i'm sure those in Houston(officers) won't want to act ultravires because their job will be at stake . 1 Like |

Firsttymum if you watch all these border security reality shows on cbs r, you will see heavily pregnant women being drug peddlers, drugs worth millions of dollars, i'm sure all these things put together has made them more merciless towards the pregnant women. I watched one a woman 8 months gone with toddler carried drugs that the street value was 5million dollars, hid the drugs in the sole of her shoes when she landed she was forming tired pregnant pregnant just imagine 3 Likes |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by LadyGuinivere: 9:36am On Aug 12, 2016 |
firsttymum:Yes it is. The law is clear. This is our country. We reserve the right on whom to allow in. We have guidelines on what steps you can take to be allowed in. People now walk the grey line and wish to have all go easy peasy. From your story, she was not maltreated. She had a doctor examine her so it was determined she was fit to return. If her fundamental rights were breached (which in my opinion it wasn't) she can decide to contact her lawyer and they decide the appros action to take . But all that na outside America cos like I said earlier, they reserve the right to let her in and she wasn't. Stress? Her rights end where the rights of country starts. It is reasonable to know that travelling during pregnancy comes with certain factors. She took that risk. Her doctor certified her fit to fly. She was aware of immigration laws. When you add all that, mbok she has no cause of action. If on the other hand her visa was acquired for birthing purposes then it would be unreasonale to deport her and would be an international incident . You can even bring in discrimination and bias in.... Nigerians, the solution is total honesty. We have given ourselves bad names patapata. See the man even knew our default story sef. I busy. I write letter. Letter of intent o ogwo nno oya? ( Is it the solution to all?) Our country is messed up and we are all hustling for a better future for our kids. So let's go the extra mile to secure it. #myopinion 13 Likes |

Congratulations blueberry, thank GOD you and baby are fine. They are always in a haste the rush the whole process, why didn't she leave you to progress on your own since you and baby we're doing just fine. I remember my doc telling the nurse to bring oxytocin when I was almost 10cm you need to see the way I wanted to bring down the hospital with shout of "" I don't want oxytocin """ I can't recall how many times I kept shouting it and she quickly agreed. E no reach 5mins after that baby came out on her own without the normal push push push drama. 1 Like |

I got it too. However the Atlanta has a 16 hour lay over at Heathrow which I don't like You all should confirm that the terms are okay for you before making payment. mumdearest: |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by XX01(f): 11:51am On Aug 12, 2016 |
16 hrs will be good if you have a UK visa. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by YoungMetrosG(f): 12:19pm On Aug 12, 2016 |
Chuchuo and XX01 are right, Heathrow airside doesn't work 24 hours. Anyone that has long layovers will have to go through passport control and only people with UK visas can do that. The Virgin Atlantic flights to LAX land in LHR in the afternoon and leave for LAX in the morning, so anyone buying this definitely needs a UK visa. People considering this should look into flying to JFK as this will be more convenient. @mumdearest chuchuo: |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by LadyGuinivere: 1:40pm On Aug 12, 2016 |
debby516: 1. Option A. Apply for Childbirth. Most prolly ist visa. Straight forward. Visa transcript speaks for itself. No issues. 2. Option B. Renew while pregnant for childbirth. No interview but ample opportunity and spaces in ds 160 to declare eg- Contact person, address, duration of stay. One cant fill 3 weeks then get to poe and say 'ehhh no space to declare' 3. Option C. Renew before pregnancy. Now this is the unique situation and the only place IMO that Notification of Intent applies. U may/may not have used the visa before the missionary journey but any CBP can do the math and the traveller can explain. So if you applied for medical and still get the generic B1/B2, your interview transcript speaks for itself. In this FTM's story the Lady got her visa for just vacation and I believe she was pregnant then. And didn't declare That was the issue/reason for deportation Finally. The day that Letter of intent is no longer worth the paper its printed upon is finally upon us. Let us observe a moment of silence 9 Likes |
