I vividly recall on one of my trip to Singapore in 2008 when dollar exchange rate was still N120. Then $2500 will give you a paltry of N300k now the same $2500 @N400 exchange rate will give you N1million. Is Naira not dead Some people should better stop thinking through their anus and face the reality. |

(1st Samuel:8 verse 4-22) 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them. 8:8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. 8:9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. 8:10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. 8:11 And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. 8:12 And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. 8:13 And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. 8:14 And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. 8:15 And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. 8:16 And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. 8:17 He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants. 8:18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day. 8:19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; 8:20 That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. 8:21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD. 8:22 And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city. (There's difference between GOD'S PERFECT WILL and GOD'S PERMISSIVE WILL) In the bible God use to raise judges to deliver the isrealites from time to time but their came a time, they got tired and started clamouring for a king. They said they want to be like other nations and they nominated Saul who happen to be one of the tallest men in that era to their king. Though Saul wasn't GOD'S PERFECT WILL but GOD allowed it, thats a case of GOD'S PERMISSIVE WILL... On the long they KNEW what their EYES saw.... In the same vein since independent God in his infinite mercies has been raising judges to deliver Nigeria from time to time till it got to a point some unscrupulous elements among them instigated the masses and they started clamouring for CHANGE so they can be like other nations e.i Zimbabwe & Venezuela.. They nominated General Bubu who also happen to be one the tallest men in this era as their president, Even though his not GOD'S PERFECT WILL but GOD as well allowed it, Now the rest is history..... *ThE OcToPuS* 3 Likes

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who on August 12, 2016 told visiting United Nations Population Fund officials that his country is broke, an effect of plummeting oil prices. By MOHAMMED MOMOH - Nation Correspondent in Abuja. ABUJA, Friday President Muhammadu Buhari has admitted to United Nations Population Fund officials that his country is broke and going through hard financial times due to ever dipping oil prices. The west African nation, the world's sixth largest oil producer, relies heavily on oil revenue, but the income from the natural resource has plummeted in the last one year causing severe foreign exchange scarcity. President Buhari said Nigerians were suffering because of the sudden drop in the price of crude oil in the international market. "Before we came to office, petroleum sold for about $100 per barrel, then it crashed to $37, and now oscillates between $40 and $45 per barrel.” However, President Buhari said his administration would not relent on its commitment to transparency and accountability. The Nigerian leader poured his heart out when he received the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the UN Under-Secretary- General Babatunde Osotimehin in Abuja on Friday. Besides the crisis on the international oil market, the resurgence of militancy in the south has greatly affected Nigeria's production. The destruction of oil and gas facilities by militants, including by a group calling itself the Niger Delta Avengers, has caused a dip in daily production from 2.5 million barrels to less than one million. According to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, the country produces only high value and low sulphur content light crude oil. President Buhari pleaded with UNFPA to bear with Nigeria in areas where the country could not live up to its responsibilities. He commended UNFPA for its commitment to saving lives in Nigeria, particularly of women and children. Prof Osotimehin assured President Buhari of his agency’s continued support to healthcare facilities and nutritional development. (Editing by Joel Muinde) |
