You've just shown you know nothing about management, a manager achieves results while minimizing overhead cost.

Outside of Wenger ( and Ferguson) none of the big clubs have/had managers that get involved negotiating player transfer fees. These are done by Chief execs, Directors or Football, Technical directors etc. That's a very outdated definition. If you think Mourinho was responsbile negotiating transfer fees for Man utd,Chelsea or Real madrid then you definitely have no clue what's going on outside Arsenal. So maybe you should keep your head there and not comment on other clubs.

Thank you jare. I even forgot about Woodward and his counterparts in other clubs. Most cases the manager identifies player/s that will help achieve its goals and the director of football does the transactions.

How much has mourinho made for those clubs? The players you claim he spent over 1 billion for how much has the club raked through them? Stop being foolish
what's Jose issue with selling players? as a manager he is tasked with identifying what positions needed to be filled in order to attain the clubs target.....and this targets most times means success on the field of play (trophies).

and need I remind u dat only clubs with no chance of trophies believe in buying player in order to sell for a profit. big clubs buy players to win trophies, not to resell at a higher value

Though am not sure I understand your point in the first paragraph let me give this analysis.
Imagine you're a coach and you presently have 4 strikers of which of course you may have identified one or two you believe can't help you achieve your aim, what do you do? Do you let everyone remain and buy a fifth striker that can fit into your plans? Or you sell one or two to create space for the one you are buying? Am sure you also know there is a limit to the number of players you can register in a season? Keeping players you know you have no plans of playing on the bench is not fair to the player too.
Mourinho does not buy to resell. No big club manager does that so I don't know where that is coming from.

Whether you accept or not, he influences the transfers no matter the club set up, stop saying shii!!!
If he doesn't why was he told he would have to sell some players if he must sign more players after the Pogba transfer?
And there was no part in my post where I talked about negotiation, even in coys managers declare vacancies in their departments it's the responsibility of HR to negotiate salaries.
If you've ever worked in an organization, you'll know managers try as much as possible to reduce the over head operating cost of their departments, it's part of their KPI.

A football manager has a budget and can never go above that budget. He does not set this budget himself. So tell me how he can overspend when he does not go above his budget. Of course if you were smart you would also try to find out how much he has made for these clubs before saying trash
Transfer budget is one thing, wage bill incurred is another thing. If you understand how these things work you'll know y he was told to start selling players before he can get more signings.
But what do you know about management?

It is not possible for him to go above the wage structure of any club that's a fact. It is perfectly normal for a team or manager to sell players. Obviously he has hit the limit or almost which is why he is asked to sell before he can buy but how is that an issue?
Which of the management? Football management or real life management? Anyways both boxes ticked cool. For football manager I just got the 2016 edition today grin.

most times managers inherit a team they had no input in. so a new manager with his own unique tactics checks to see which of the inherited players can fit into his tactics. the ones dat cannot are shown the door or subsequently relegated to d bench. keeping players on d bench means such players are option B.

every new manager wants to add his own inputs to the team because according to Idi Amin "whenever a change in leadership occurs, few heads must roll" grin

I agree but you will also agree that company A incur total cost of 1 billion dollar for a calendar year and rakes in a revenue of 3 billion dollars does not make it less productive than company B that spends just 2 million dollar and have a revenue of 5 million dollar. In fact A has done better. Shareholders, stakeholders will agree with me. Thank you.

As far as identifying the player he wants and the make up of his squad. So if he doesnt want a player in his squad he can leave.

If he doesn't why was he told he would have to sell some players if he must sign more players after the Pogba transfer?

This obviously never happened unless you believe everything in the papers. He already has the number of players he wants in his usual small squad he likes to work with everywhere he goes so not only does he want to get rid of those outside the 26 players he wont be expanding the squad. Do you seriously think Man utd gave Jose a budget and said this is what you can spend?
And there was no part in my post where I talked about negotiation, even in coys managers declare vacancies in their departments it's the responsibility of HR to negotiate salaries.

Its very hard to compare the football world to other works of life. he lives in a very unrealistic bubble. Like I said before, the responsibility of a manager has changed a lot not only in top clubs but even in medium sized clubs.
If you've ever worked in an organization, you'll know managers try as much as possible to reduce the over head operating cost of their departments, it's part of their KPI.
Like I said above, this is irrelevant to the discussion at man utd.

You lack comprehension abilities. That he's told to sell before he can buy doesn't mean he'll be the one to sell the player to another club. He's not involved in negotiation or sell of players. What that means is that, like the case of Bastian, he'll identify the player he doesn't want or wants to loan out, then someone like Woodward will then go about loaning or selling the player when clubs shows interest in that player. Same thing van Goat did with Valdez. Same thing Mourinho is doing with Bastian.
