If we don't patronise our Nigerian companies, how do we expect them to grow? The overseas hosting companies started with hiccups too but as they grew their services got a lot better. I advise the Nigerian hosting companies compensate their customers for bad services and fast track improvement. 6 Likes |

Dualcore long time I dont know why these companies dont have consultants like you on their books I remember how angry you were when something similar to this happened about 5 years ago as it shouldn't have happened even then, to think that things like this still happen . . . . I hope they learn from this and hope the customer is able to bounce back |

The Bottom Line: Until power is stable in Nigeria, don't expect quality hosting services. 1 Like |

D34lw4p: I used to brag like you concerning whogohost. Now i can only give you an advice. Backup regularly. On a cloud or on your pc. I have 15 sites with them, the other 10 are running well. The 5 that got hit is costing me alot |

ITbomb: The point is not WordPress OR Blogger there's no argument about which of them is better once you do your own work take care of your OnPage, Technical and OffPage SEO and provide the content your niche demands, then you're fine..... Personally i observed that most Nigerians use Blogger for the sole reason of it bn owned by Google...but i personally prefare WP and will go for it over Blogger anytime anyday..... |

younqjohn01: I persoannly use namecheap.com and have been using them for years now....I buy my .ng domains from whogohost but use namecheap for my hosting and buys my .com domains from them as well. I personally use their Ultimate package which goes for $29.88 dollars/Year https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/shared.aspx ( of cos the cost changes when its time to renew). I have never had any issues with them and their technical support is super. 1 Like 1 Share |

nawebco: I don't know about Naira payment but i know about a reliable foreign host ( as you put it) and that's namecheap.com.. you can see their hosting packages here https://www.namecheap.com/hosting/shared.aspx I personally use their 'ultimate Package' which allows you up to 49 more websites which you can add as Addon domains( if you need explanation on this please do ask) As someone who's operating in the cyber space you must be willing to spend in dollars while looking for other options to save cost becuase of our current changi situation |

Really, it pains to loss important data most especially 9yrs old data. i even get mad if i loss my USB flash drive that house my important files talk less of website data. Well, i use SlayHost for my website and backups. Slayhost has 4datacenter maintain by USA & Indian's as the take data protection seriously. They service may seem bit costly but very effectively and 99.9% Uptime always. About the data protection and data recovery plans visit below: https://slayhost.com/backup-and-recovery/ All data is written to multiple harddisks simultanously so that if any harddisk fails that is slayhost for you |

miracle4: The user should be able to change the security settings (location based blocking). DDos protection is a must. I don't think the user actually wants those attacks on their own servers. javijabor1: You no want talk too much because you have nothing to say. Yes, I know too much, more than you do. What other real function? I setup HA load balancers with higher security features every other week. What the hell do you know? A CDN is a content delivery network, do basic read ups and appreciate when people are trying to help you |

nawebco: What more confirmation do you need? their website and other details is there....why don't you do some findings...google is the best place to start if an existing customer ain't sufficient |
Re: WHOGOHOST: Why I Will Never Use A Nigerian Host Again by javijabor1(m): 7:51am On Aug 14, 2016 |
spikesC: Oga there is nothing special about setting up high availability for servers. I have done so with multinationals like Mtn and Glo and even moved on to database administration which is more challenging. If you knew so well about CDN you wouldn't have said that trash up there. How many locations do you want to block? Doing that will block some real users and that was why I said it reduces traffic however you see it. Except you want to narrow it down by blocking individual Ips. Who has time for that? Tell me what more you know and I will gladly give you my office address to Pay me a visit. Person day blog no mean say he no get work.. LWKMD |

delivite: You said right, I feel very sad for WhoGohost too. In the past, I have recommended more than 20 clients to host with WhoGohost, but base on my "personal experience" with their hosting services at the moment, I have no choice than move to a better host and stop recommending WhoGoHost as one good idea web hosting company. At the moment, I'm just praying to God and hoping WhoGoHost can get my blog back on track working 100% with all the files intact. Just to migrate a site from one host to another, WhoGohost engineers just destroy my blog to the extent that I even lost the control of the blog. The funny thing is, it has taking 2 consecutive months now working on resolving these problems, yet no solution has been reached. It is a very sad experience I can't just forget in a hurry. The way things are going with the way their engineers are handling my blog issues, I can see myself starting all over from scratch with a blog I have invested 4 years of work in. I like patronizing our own (Naija made), but like everyone else, this is my business and WhoGohost are into business too. No one opens up his business to run at loss. WhoGoHost is making me running at a very high rate of loss at the moment so I have run away from them. 2 Likes |

akintayo1: I feel sorry for you my brother. 4 years is not a joke. Hopefully, you bounce back very soon. By the by, I schedule daily backups of my files to my dropbox account that sits on the cloud as well as on my laptop. It's nice to have your own personal backups and don't rely so much on them web hosts. I'm saying for the future. For the present, i hope they get you back on your feet very soon. Cheers! |

web4africa: Chief, If you are a new staff of Web4Africa, please take your time. And if you are Mr. Ajao himself, you should be ashamed of yourself. Spurious allegations without evidence? a pinch of salt? intentions? oh really? mushroom operation? how proud of you to say so. Your comment is very full of disdain. I am the one who first registered nairabytes.com with web4africa. Why not google the domain name and see what you will come up with. Did you see how much it costs now? Why? Check the domains history online. It was a whole year of back and forth emails with you and your team and my site never came online. Check your email history and see what you can find. At the end of a whole year of not providing me the service I paid for, Mr Niyi still had the guts to send me a facebook add-request, send me a link asking how I enjoyed their 1-year hosting service, send me a linkedin connection request, and another mail saying I should renew my services or loose my data. Which data? I was like, is this not the same guy who has been trying to fix the hosting for a whole year? regards HK Ps: 1) No, Im not bashing Nigerian hosting companies, Im just saying: I once got scammed by Web4Africa afterwhich I realized I was not the only one. 2) After I got scammed by Niyi and his company, I shined my eyes, got my hands dirty-technically speaking and I set out to learn the ropes, do it myself and help others!!! This is the whole 9-yards!!! |

GlorifiedTunde: I used web4africa before and the site I paid for could not come online for a whole year. My complaints generated into many emails back and forth and they couldn't fix their own issues......... Can you imagine? For 1-whole year? Web4africa tries its best to market itself as a Nigerian, Ghanaian, south African, all African brand, but those of us who were once their victims know better. Regards HK |
