According to the news shared on Facebook by Daniel Ogbegie,a lawyer who lives in Benin,APC governorship candidate in Edo state Obaseki refused to appear for gubernatorial debate because Adams Oshiomhole was not allowed to speak for him.Below is what he wrote....

"APC candidate boycotts the Gubernatorial Debate going on in Benin at Benson Idahosa University because Adams Oshiomhole is not allowed to speak for him. National Anthem has been sung, several parties including the confident Ize-Iyamu of the PDP are all seated but Obaseki is in Iyahmoh." - Redemption Group".

Gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Godwin Obaseki, has failed to show up for the scheduled debate today.
He has sent the Director of his campaign, Hon Osakue (Not Austin Osakue), to represent him. Throughout his campaign rallies, he also relied on a representative to speak for him. That was Adams Oshiomhole. Unfortunately this debate does not allow for proxies.

It is expected that Obaseki may have to reconsider his decision not to participate.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the PDP, Mr Gbajumo of the SDP and other candidates are seated.

The debate is currently holding at Benson Idahosa University at Ugbor Road, Benin City.

Why will he debate when he knows he has no plans for Edo people.
It in APC blood, they never prepare a Blue print neither do they ever articulate anything that they will do for the people if they get there. We are wiser now. cool

yes, that was why buhari was boycotting presidential debate so that he could escape being asked on how to achieve his bogus campaign promises.

Obaseki or whatever your name is, your boycotting the debate is ill-advised.

The days of boycotting debates as a tactical means of evading critical scrutiny are long gone!!!

Nigerians and in this instance, the good people of Edo State want to hear their leaders debate, EXPLAIN, and COMMUNICATE their ideas and HOW the myriad problems confronting the people can be solved.

This cannot be done by a PROXY sir.

Boycotting will backfire!

A word is enough for the wise.

And you think there's any sense in this statement? The result of winning election by intentionally boycotting debates is what Nigeria is facing in the last 14 months. It's a pity there are still people like you who will never learn from history.
