Lolz! U must be kidding right? With all the huge salaries doctors are collecting you call it unattractive. What is your definition of unattractive?

Left for me, medicine remains the most attractive profession and the only profession that govt even paid 'deaf' ears to.

Check on other working environment and their conditions you will discover what I mean.

Medicine is attractive in Nigeria but the problem is lack of medical infrastructure. Even the government of the day is doing little or nothing to address the rot and decay in the health sector.
Government pays better than private hospitals but some private hospitals have better equipment which in turn makes their services more exorbitant.
Government run health facilities are understaffed and their is no effort towards maintenance of existing facilities. Old ones are not replaced and new ones are not brought in. How many dialysis machines do we have in government run health facilities in Nigeria? Even drugs and stuffs as little as handgloves are lacking in government hospitals. These things reduce the efficiency of doctors and they would rather practice in a place where all needed facilities are put in place for optimal and maximum performance.
Till we get things right, we will always have brain drain of doctors in Nigeria. This is why we have many health issues in Nigeria because the ratio of doctors to patients leaves much to be desired.
I went to a government run health facility to run some tests two weeks back: only one person was on duty; collecting money, issuing receipts, taking the sample, running the test and writing the results: tell me why errors will not be high!

What is atractive in Nigeria today? By Nigerian standard Medicine is the most atractive profession in Nigerian. But by normal standard Nigerian greatest is the world lowest because Nigeria is the worst in the world.

The only attractive profession in Nigeria is Politics. That's why it's a do or die affair because when you finally get there, you get everything.

Medicine is a noble profession but the working condition makes it difficult for doctors to give their best. I have doctor friends and I see the bad condition under which they work.
Some of them are owed salaries yet they strive to do their best.

Same goes for other health professionals (nurses, pharmacists, lab scientists, physiotherapists, etc).

Kudos to them for still trying to do their best in this harsh Nigerian environment.

Well i think doctors are useless really if you just put them in a building with a few wards and beds and call it a hospital,Simply because the sign post says so.

No infrastructure, very understaffed, poor and shabby working environment.

Na God dey save all we Nigerians most times.

If you want to go by the structure and the financial gain, you might end up frustrated, but then if your source of happiness /motivation in the carrier is beyond the money/fine selfies with white light and stuffs, and let say probably on how many lives you've touched, you will not only enjoy the profession but also find it attractive.Oyinbo professors dey leave Harvard with all the gadgets to do operation in a local Clinic and are always very happy to do so.You see what you wanna see.Goodluck.

Going through the comments here I have to agree that opinion is divided.
IMHO, medicine is really unattractive, both for the work environment and the pay. However like I usually tell folks who come to me for medical career advice, if you're aspiring to be a doctor with money in mind, you may end up depressed because you would be frustrated by the work environment with a pay that isn't commensurate.
If i should say, most of my secondary school mates are doing way better than me in their other careers.
In my few years of medical practice , I have also realised that more and more of my colleagues are taking foreign exams and aspiring to go out to practice, for obvious reasons.
