Not about the ref. It's the new rule of the game. Ballack missed the world cup final because of accumulated cards, one other player missed a crucial final because of this yellow issue (I don forget the guy name). Fifa made the law to avoid such in the future.

This info is totally wrong. It is only used in the olympics as far back as I can remember. FIFA has no say in the olympics soccer tournament. The cancelation of single yellow cards in a soccer tournament at the semi final stage only applies to the olympics.

my broda sometimes i wonder too if nigerians even reason before making conclusions... Imagine folks already claiming that the ref was biased ignoring the fact that fifa only enforced a rule which applies to both nigeria and even germany and any other country playing the semi final.

Same thought crossed my mind. Fifa has no say in olympics! That why clubs are not mandated to release players. And i still seriously doubt this news. Except this rule was recently introduced into olympics. Becos even on the match day the commentators and even the match statistics confirmed the yellow cards and those to miss today's match

Sorry but the yellow cards were NOT cancelled because the ref's decisions were biased. The cards were cancelled based on the new FIFA rule. And that's has nothing to do with whether the ref's decisions were fair or biased.

And by the way, the yellow card that bothered me the most in the whole thing was the silly yellow card picked up by Azubike. We need that guy to anchor our midfield against Germany but the slowpoke went ahead and picked up a stupid yellow card in the last game!
