Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by demolagilbert: 4:23pm On Aug 17, 2016 |
In my experience, there is an allowance for up to 0.02pts. Dunno if that has changed now. I have in the past been successful at a bid due to the fact that my stop rate wasn't higher than the bid rate by more than 0.02, infact on that occasion i had been advised on this by the bank staff handling it before placing the bid, it was my first bid experience and it went through i.e. i got the prevailing stop rate. However, i haven't bidded above the stop rate in recent times. Bottom line there may still be hope for y'all whose rates were higher by not more than 0.02. |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 9:02am On Aug 18, 2016 |
Can anyone here confirm if he bidded for 91 days at the bank rate and his bid went through. GTB bleeped me in the ass, i didnt quote any rate yet my account officer called and said the 91 days bid failed. I have lost alot of money waiting for a week for this bid, i cant wait another 2 weeks. who has an idea the rate i can get at the sec market. am so down right nw. Who can recommend alternatives, i want to bid today need some lose cash ASAP. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 9:36am On Aug 18, 2016 |
overcomer123: The only reason for failure when you go with bank's rate is that your request was not processed or GTB was not successful with their own bid. How can this be? Going with bank's rate means any rate to a maximum of the stop rate. so what are they saying? How can they say it failed. I smell something like KEEPING UR MONEY FOR THEIR DAILY BUSINESS 1 Like |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 9:41am On Aug 18, 2016 |
unite4real: I tire oh. she claims GTB was not successful for all their 91 days bids. that is for customers that went with the banks rate. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by feelamong(m): 10:17am On Aug 18, 2016 |
I think the issue with GT is based on the branch you deal with... I have dealt with the Tiamiyu branch in VI a couple of times and it went well.. those who cannot wait should explore the secondary markets...14% is not a bad deal there.. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 10:29am On Aug 18, 2016 |
feelamong: Please tell me how i can bid in the secondary market, the dumb account officer is saying she cant still confirm the rate. IT so annoying. first she is sayin she is nt sure she will get exactly 91 days, now am like okay what rate and tenure can you get? She is yet to get back to me. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 10:36am On Aug 18, 2016 |
@ feelamong can you guide me on the way t go abt it on the secondary market, cos i just think my account officer is playing some games with me. Are the rate negotiable to? if yes how? What are my chances of getting 14 percent? |
