FISCAL SANITY BY COMMITMENT AND PATRIOTISM -.
Do you noticed that something very very significant happened few days ago but, somehow it passed almost unnoticed even in the ever busy cyber community. The almost graveyard silence about the unexpected increase in monthly revenue generation forced me to believe Nigerians are more keen on spreading stories of failure and always seem sceptical and reluctant to share stories of success. Well, here's President Buhari's story.
Due to aftershocks of the hard economic knocks Nigeria suffered in recent times caused by global recession, monthly revenue generation of the federation has been fluctuating between N200bn - N300bn hardly enough to allow most State's to shoulder basic responsibilities like paying workers salaries while capital projects were a thing of the past.
Out of the blues, the month of July witnessed an astronomical increase in the monthly revenue generation of the federation by more than N300bn up to N559.03bn from last month's N237.46bn, a whopping increase of N301.32bn; the highest in almost two years. Quite astonishing! That's not all the story. What made this performance a feat to celebrate is the fact that the improvement was mostly from non-oil revenue by FIRS.
The FIRS improved its performance between last month and this month by N165 billion and that accounted for the significant change in Nigeria's revenue profile. There was also an improvement of N12.6 billion by Nigeria Customs Service, as well as the exchange gain of N79.2 billion.
The fact that there was an outstanding increase in Companies Income Tax and Petroluem Profit Tax with complementary increases in import duty and royalties suggest seriousness of President Buhari and his team to block leakages in the revenue generation system for the benefit of Nigerians.
Despite the fact that the high revenue performance was indicative that the reforms of the present administration were working and would return the nation to the path of growth sooner than expected.
Of course, it's difficult to accept one erred in judgement. Many WAILERS have the requisite capacity to read the situation and understand that something good was achieved and something better could be achieved. However, most of them are tied to primitive style of politicking which put Party above country hence, any achievement from the opposition should be suppressed.
Convincingly President Buhari and his team have proved themselves competent and set to carry Nigeria out of the woods without the usual noise of having Harvard trained economic experts who always seem capable of turning stone into diamonds but always ended up a disaster to Nigeria. I simply can't help but doff my hat for President Buhari not for this dizzying success but for achieving it without a "school certificate".
For how long you intend to remain a wailer without purpose is entirely your business. My business is to see success, appreciate and shout it loud enough for even the deaf, dumb and DUMBER to hear.
Congratulation Mr. President!........

All these analyses of revenue income came from the sales of your signature Salt I suppose.

Do you even know how much the exchange rate is currently? Try and factor that into your July mumbo revenue and see if that doesn't cancel out the preceding month's revenue.

Is it worth celebrating? Yes!
Should we celebrate? No.

Because it might be a fluke performance. Let's not act like the grumpy wailers by reacting to every positive occurrence hastily.

If we achieve this level or thereabouts in the next couple of months then let the drums roll.

By the way I am loving the change!

Get the bolded corrected to show how informed you are.

Please when next you make blanket sycophantic threads try to be "micro" in your analysis. It will save you some stress
Ask critical business intelligence questions, take for instance you sell Salt and seasonings.

1) How has the bogus revenue streams you tried to sell to us boosted your income?

2)Have you had more customers or suppliers during this period until review with good purchasing power?

3)Has inflation or Exchange rate affected your income or purchasing power?

4) If as a manufacturer of these FMCG products, has the power, transportation etc been fair?
Don't tag everybody a Wailer, not everybody massage dumb politicians with sentiments of some eldorado that is not felt. If the economy is working, trust me you won't need all these revenue sugar coating to convince Nigerians otherwise.

@barryx, u earn my apologies but seriously, I thought you are among the youths that some cabals who desn't want a positive growth for this our dear county for their selfish interests make them see failure in every administrations until their childrens children keep ruling us as if it their birth_right.

We youths just need to wake up and rise to our feet to gether various informations in order to draw realistic conclusion.

We need to let all of us know know that we know the truth and it shall prevail, no matte who the president is, all we need standard of living as our citizenship right.

We are entitle to good life and not them alone, they post pictures/videos online, all we do is to make them topic of discussion while we forfeit balance diet for transportation fare, just the week, Barrack Obama visited her 2nd daughter where she was working in an eatry. Who amongst our own politicians could release their child to such humbleness? When they are not even schooling in their own country.

My brother, I am indeed sorry, I never meant any arm.......

Op...buhari increased all tax rate across board
He also increased PAYEE.....

Many companies have to reduce workers salaries in other to meet up with new government tax rate increase.

Import duty rate was increased recently. And importer and clearing agents voiced it out.

They are increasing taxes to raise funds to run the govt since very little is coming from crude oil sales.

Increase in taxes leads to lower salaries for employees and increase in prices of goods and services.

Everytin go cost for market.

Will the Afonja below understand what you just typed.

He didn't also put into factor the purchasing power of the naira as of now

The Afonja below should have asked himself " Can one naira of today be compared to one naira of last year."

Did you calculate the effect of the action on the economy.?

1) What of the 14% increase in interest rates.?
2) What of the rise in dollar against naira.?
3) What of the rise in fuel and electricity costs.?
4) What of the planned 9% increase in telecommunications.?

When companies starts (1) paying taxes for things they weren't paying for or (2) spending more money on things they were paying for, how do you think they will react.?

Kudos to Buhari and his economic team for their current success in raising our revenue generation profile. We hope this tempo is sustained and very soon we'd be out of the woods.

The wailers are allergic to any progress made by this administration so expect them to kick back with illogical and immaterial objections that only end up revealing their degree of frustration. Those screaming about interest rate hikes have not figured that it is in response to the rising inflation rate that reached an alarming 16.5% in June, as it would encourage saving and discourage borrowing.

The bottom line here is that states would now have access to more revenue allocation to meet their recurrent financial commitments (particularly salaries) which would trickle down to stimulate the local economy, just as the states individually strive to boost their IGR. What is purchasing power parity analysis when the common man does not have any purchasing power to start with due to unpaid salaries?

Kudos Tunde Fowler and President Muhammadu Buhari.
