nike4love: You may not understand, but I'll tell you anyway. Nigeria/Nigerian importers spend over $2.4bn importing rice. Imagine what $2.4bn will do to our economy, to the economies of Kebbi, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Anambra and other rice states. Think! http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/187406-nigeria-spends-2-4bn-on-rice-importation-in-3-years-emefiele.html 1 Like |

useless government useless people, why are they impounding it , do we have it in abundant here... a cup of rice is sold 150 naira in my area... where is made in Nigeria rice I can't even see it in market, why are they making it more harder on us... bughari is stupid. Aisha Halliburton has brainwash her... everything about this government stink... wailers are weeping Zombies are crying... high time we stop voting under ethnic lines... bughari is not a technocrats, he lack the zeal to push Nigeria forward, don't expect an illiterate without formal education to act as an economist or Harvard graduate, bughari is fantastically stupid... there is hungry in Nigeria, Zombies are getting wiser, the only way for them to return to power unopposed is silencing the opposition, bughari you will wake up one day and see Nigeria in flame, yellow-bars contributed to our woes, out of ignorance and wickedness they choose darkness against light, they are the cause of our current predicament.. may God forgive them and accept them back as they are willingly, gradually returning to the right path... May God give few unrepentant Zombies sense to think outside the box and Vote wisely Amen |

luvinhubby:oga read the post very well pls. nothing like ban is in it. the man was just evading payment of govt dues which is criminal. if he had succeeded, the same man will make consumers pay through their noses and make huge profit not minding he landed the rice cheaply. this the bane of this country. no body wants to be honest but we still want the best. greed is killing us all 2 Likes |

lordkhalifa:easy bro, the man committed a criminal offence of evading govt levy. no body is punishing him for importing rice here. he should have paid the right levies and taken his rice. mind you had he got away with it, he would not have sold to you at a cheaper price but extort the last kobo from your pocket. 2 Likes |

The painful thing here is that these uniformed criminals in customs- Hamid Ali and Co will sell these impounded Rice to their hausa/fulani friends close to the actual value and then pocket the millions of naira for themselves. Not a kobo will enter FG purse. Is this not INSTITUTIONALIZED THIEVERY? |

Mrjo: We have not gotten there yet. You just wait. What we need now is to make policies to help them grow and build capacity. Give them soft loans by buying up at least a year production in advance. People want to be assured there'd be a return on their investments. That's what government is doing presently. This is not just going to benefit rice farmers, more people will actually go into agriculture now that we have given them support. The same thing is what we want for Innoson. The states and airforce are gradually moving towards him. His is difficult because some vehicle manufacturers have been smart by establishing assembly plants here. Further, not many people buy or can afford new cars in Nigeria. But he'll get there. |

MrCounselor:Not sure you read the news before commenting, According to the write ups the FG did not ban the importation of rice but the importer indicated in his/her papers that it's yeast and not rice. My question is why will someone import rice and claim it to be yeast? it's the same way they will import guns and claim it's something else. |
