[b]In my life i have come across several people who have this habit of reading the bible with just one thing in mind; "just looking for loopholes, just looking for loopholes." There are a lots of people who read with the same intention of disregarding any evidence. After all we are so much more advanced than they were 1,950 years ago when this ancient book was written.

There are only three options to explain our existence, one is to believe in God, another is agnosticism which states their may be a God but I haven't found proof. The last is atheism where one will state they know God does not exist. This is not just a non- belief in God but a willful denial of his existence. Agnosticism is where one admits that they do not know if God exists, not having the proof or that there is a personal God who has always existed.

No one is born an atheist, they learn NOT to believe. People choose to become atheists as much as they choose to become Christians, unfortunately they usually disbelieve by default. Hopefully one becomes Christian because of evidence.

Option 1: Lazily attribute everything to a magical god who has never shown himself or done anything(Gnostic Theism).The same way our ancestors thought rain was the heavens crying. Until we found out its just condensed water. Lol.

Option 2: Agnosticism. We have pure agnostics, who don't know, and don't care. . . we have agnostic atheists, and agnostic theists. I'd don't really like using the term 'agnostic theist' for myself because the concept of god has been defined as some sky daddy, but I tend to look at quantum particles as an extension of some immaterial being not subject to this universe. There's a lot we don't know, and I'd rather admit I don't know.

Option 3: Gnostic atheists. There are no gnostic atheists. . . I mean, no gnostic atheists led there by rational thinking. Anyone who claims to be so is just as ignorant as a religious person. Because gnostic atheists make a counter claim, thereby putting on themselves, a burden to prove that claim. Unlike agnostic atheists, who just reject the claim that there is god.

Picture it like this:
Gnostic theism (e.g Christianity): Blue is the best color. (Islam says red is the best color)
Gnostic atheism: There's no best color.
All forms of agnosticism: I don't know what the best color is, or if there even is a best color at all.


No one is born an atheist? Lol. Mr. Man, you are only a Christian because of the society you grew up in. Period. People have no conception of god unless they are taught. YOU LEARNED TO BELIEVE. If you were born in Japan you'd be a Shintoist or whatever. Lol. I wanted to create a thread on this but PastorAIO has done that and done brilliantly. Humans are social animals. Just like ants. Tell me, are ants scared of some ant god? Is that what makes them work together in a community? Is that what makes them look after each other? After all, there's no eternal ant hell fire and ant Satan. 'Morality' is natural to social animals, and we humans seek to justify it with the concept of god. Social animals require community to survive. Human morality has evolved, as we're intelligent beings. That is why, even some things that were acceptable in the bible, are considered ridiculous today e.g being forced to marry your rapist.


Let's start here. I've corrected some misconceptions about atheism that are the basis for the rest of your post.

I knew my effort was futile but at least I tried! I read the opening post, and corrected your understanding of the terms atheism, agnosticism, etc. But nairaland Christians have been programmed to believe 'post from unbeliever' = cannot make sense . . . so I leave you to your ignorant bliss.
