There is nothing wrong if u name your pets any name u want... But naming ur pet after a sitting president..... Common we are not in European countries... We have a different cultures that guide us... Try to read the news again, the man parade the dog around the neighborhood, taunting is own president, thereby causing a scare, it was even his neighbors that alert the police... 1 Like |

Mr. President is not the only one bearing the name "Buhari", I see no reason why the young man should be arrested. Our Police Force should get busy. God Bless Nigeria 2 Likes |

Naming your child or your pet after someone shows that u like the person, but I wonder why everything keeps being absolutely different in this country. Actually Buhari knows he is not making the people proud that's why he is bringing sentimental and foul judgement against the man. I wish I'm the counsel to defendant in this case because I don't loose in this kind of case. 1 Like |

omenka: Don't mind them. They are trying to shift the focus from the fact that he taunted a particular ethnic group. It is not so much about whose name was given to the dog but that he painted it and paraded the animal. Maybe if he painted his father's name on the dog and walked it in front of his siblings and neighbours, they would applaud him. 4 Likes |

People are missing the point of this matter... It is not the naming of the Dog Buhari, its the manner in which the Man went about it. He not only named the dog Buhari, he shaved the name into the 'mane' of the dog on both sides. If that isn't criminal mischief, then I wonder what is.. Now it's all fun and games until one illiterate Muslim sees it, starts spreading inciting messages around the neighborhood about how Igbos have no respect for Islam or Muslims and Northerners and what have you, and the next thing you get is a riot where the people most likely to get hurt are innocent people like you and I whose only offense would be being unfortunate to share the same ethnicity, religion, tribe and other commonalities with an idiot who thought he was being funny. I maintain it that should an Hausa Man in the East name his Goat or Cow Ojukwu and even go ahead to shave the name Ojukwu into the Goats skin, there will be hell to pay for any Hausa Man, Woman or child caught slippin in the neighborhood. 6 Likes 1 Share |

MadCow1: LOL. You don't know the Igbo man at all. If you like name your animal Ojukwu or something thing worse. They will not care. I suspect that they either have better things to do or it is not in their culture to be violent. Meanwhile, the man is from Delta State. Is he now Igbo, because it is not oil that is involved? Confused hypocrites. 7 Likes |
