I wouldn't know what his intention is cos I can't see inside his head.

And I don't understand the black and Mexican analogy, the president of Nigeria belongs to Nigerians so how does he become a leader of a particular group in this case?
I am really surprised you are answering him. To them, the president can do no wrong. And so will all who try to impress him by acting recklessly.

You shut up my friend. Only a sick fellow like the ugly lunatic up there will inscribed the name of a seating president on a dog hoping his action will spark some sort of crisis. He should thank his star that the issue is handled in a civilized manner. Why didn't he inscribed ojukwu's name or any of his leaders cognomen on the said dog if he wants to show how miserable his life is?

You don't go about looking for trouble and when that trouble finally finds you, you begin to play the victim card. Maybe if he'd call his name buhari without inscribing buhari's name on the dog, just maybe nobody will have any problem with him. But what that sick fellow did is an 'act of provocation', a breach of public peace and an evil intention to instigate violence. Like I said earlier, he should thank his very tiny star that the authority stepped in to calm every boiling nerve down.

Again he should thank his 'very very tiny star'.

Keep your mouth shut. Why didn't you rant when some men from the north named their dogs Jonathan? It is now time for us to revenge , so live with it. I will name my goat buhari

Keep quiet u!
Naming of pets all kinds of names has been long even since time immemorial.
GEJ was ridiculed to the pit...yet he didn't harass anybody.
Obasanjo was also treated in that manner even till date but yet nobody was harassed.
Why is Buhari own so special?
Economy is down...things are not going on well with the country...
Nobody is taking a bold step on getting a way forward for the economy.
Ordinary petty dog naming is getting this "elaborate" attention. Nawa for this country o!

I am yet to see the place in the Constitution that specified names for animals, any thing short of this, the police should be petitioned for arresting this man let it be a warning to the police and the the those northerners who fail to understand that we are in a civilized world, though I do not support people insulting the president.

it's not about the dog. It's his motive to cause unrest in a peaceful environment. Have you watched "die Hard : with vengeance " it's like the situation where a white man wears sandwich signboards with racial slurs parading a black neighbourhood.
i see it because of the hatred in dis country. Nigerians hate their selves too much because we are not one, jst like white n black

Can you also tell me how he was intending to cause trouble with that? how do u interpret a man's intention of naming a dog to trouble because some people are violent?
why should he take the fall for someone else infirmity?
how can a foreigner institute a charge against a citizen?

I was going to use this angle when next I replied someone on here, the complainant even said the name was an insult to his father, not even the president.

Like I can't fvcking have a 'Buharic' memory with my dog, thereby inscribing on and naming it Buhari?

Couldn't it be that, the first hausa friend I made was named Buhari, he died and I decided to name my dog after him, I inscribed the name on it for easy identification, where's the crime in that? angry

He's the coward for now running scared. Why didn't he stay and face the consequence of his action?

And you are missing your medication. If you are normal at all, you won't be expecting his hosts to protest for him. You should get a placard and start the protest wherever you are and the rest of your people will do the same where they are. And why don't you go and taunt your neighbors in your 'newyork', and see if you won't receive bullet in the head.
CSTR13:
It bears testament to the cowardice of where he finds himself. If such happened in a place like newyork, there would be massive protests for his release. And don't tell me you are more peaceful than americans.
If a similar thing happened in the eastern region especially in a place like aba, the northerner that would protest and disturb the public peace or threaten the life of an igbo man, or the police officer that would facilitate an arrest has not been born. They are aware of the environment and know how to behave.
Peace is not peace if it is borne out of cowardice and fear. Such peace is not sustainable.

in all this, I am more concerned about why the case is now between the commissioner of police & the man.

why is the charge now breach of peace?

what happened to the complainant who claimed the man was referring to 'his father'?

some Muslims went on rampage in Zamfara, killing people & destroying houses, yet no one has been arrested for 'breach of peace'...

if the Fulani man had named his goat Jonathan, would he have been taken to court & arraigned for 'breach of peace'?

Just hear urself; some muslims went on rampage, but u mischieviously ommitted the reason. The way ur brother wants to cause problem by naming a dog after the president is just the same way ur christian brother was insulting their religion even in their own house.

Let me give you this example. If a 'Blackman' inscribed the name of any Mexican leader on his pet and stroll with the pet in a Mexican neighborhood, what do you think the Blackman's intention is? What do you think the Mexicans will do to the Blackman? And what do you think the authorities will do to him? There are just some things you don't just do even if that thing isn't against the law. You just don't do it for peace sake

Oga shut up. It is people like you who want a better Nigeria but does not want to be neutral or say the truth. I am from south south I will not cover wrong. The problem is not giving the dog a name called Buhari. If you really don't know what the problem is then just don't comment. Meanwhile I have got few questions for you.
1. I understand that OBJ named a gorrila patience but he never inscribed it on the body.
2. Another lady named her dog lai Mohammed she did not inscribe it on the body.
3. Which dog in your area have you seen that has its name inscribed bodly on both sides of the body. Answer is None.

Now why will a grown man who lives in an Hausa neighbourhood or settings. Knowing fully well that no owner of dogs inscribe their name bodly on the dogs. No one does that. Now if he does not have an alterior motive he would not write the name on both sides of the Dog bodly and walk around. I only pity the wife and the kids and that's the only reason I am pleading for leniency on behalf of this ignoramus being who does not think before acting.

I am a Nigerian.
I do not support Evil/Wrongdoings
I am who I am. If you think I am wrong you can give me reasons why I am not because your moniker shows biafraeva

biafraeva:
WHY IS IT ONLY IN NIGERIA PPLE ALWAYS TALK OF VIOLENCE SMALL THING DAT IS NOT UP TO ANYTHING SOME ONE WILL BE CALLING FOR VIOLENCE .THE GUY DID WRONG FOR CALLING A SITTING PRESIDENT A DOG .BUT THE PRESIDENT SHOULD THINK IF HE IS DOING WELL THE MAKES HIS CITIZEN NAME HIS DOG AFTER HIM.
