The best advise for you is to start looking Up for schools that fits into your details through google ASAP as most uni have already reached the application deadline for international prospective student for january start. You still could find one or two that still have january intake open for your desired program. Your best tool right now is GOOGLE..You'll find it very resourceful but you need to start right away. The application process for Msc can be cumbersome.

[quote author=kboogie231 post=48714843]Good evening house, this is my second post on the thread. Eventually heard from CIC this evening, study permit was denied. Reasons being "you have no satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. Purpose of visit and current employment situation". I find it ludicrous because I submitted my letter of employment, letter of introduction from my employer and more so I have paid my school fees. What is even more surprising is that I have a valid visitor's visa to Canada that will expire September 2017. The same documents of employment I used in securing the visitor's visa last year are the same I used for the study permit. If I portend an immigration risk, I wouldn't bother applying for a study permit. I think they just give any excuse that comes to their mind to deny PGD applicants.......

@yemdogg

Chief I tried to PM you 2x to give you the feedback about my enquiry at Foreign affairs but no reply so I'll just say it here.

I was disappointed about the reply I got when I called an official there (I got his number from someone else). He gave a very insensitive reply about my complaint concerning the CIC time wastage and the rate of denial despite some people meeting their requirements, he wasn't really concerned, he also said that they can't interfere with their decision about who they allow into their country.

I'm not really surprised about his attitude because I've seen Nigeria citizens been maltreated by our own officials in London some times back.

Seeking a solution by employing an advocacy from our foreign affairs is not going to work because they don't care.

Nevertheless, we'll not give up but be hopeful and have faith because God is on our side.
This too will end in praise!!!

How do you expect other countries to treat us well or not to take us for granted when our leaders and system don't even care about we the citizens. The whole world knows that Nigerian leaders and system don't give a hoot about its citizens so they have every right to take the citizens for granted after all charity they say begins at home.

If our leaders and system where reasonable and cared for its citizen who will be looking at canada, thinking about travelling out or waiting endlessly being stressed out cause of visa. I bet some people here recorded their first case of high blood pressure whilst waiting for TRV approval.

Really, I feel bad at times when I see some people give testimony cause they had there visa approved like if Nigeria was working who would be looking at canada, who will even see visa approval as testimony worthy.

I pity Nigerian youths.....our parents never went through half of what we are going through.

@ bolded... For the fact that our parents went thru civil war for 3 years, don't you feel we're better than them?

Also, an average youth of these days doesn't want to go thru stress. He or she just wants to build a duplex or drive 2016 model car overnight.

Have you ever imagined how far they walked those days? Some of them go to school walking over 5-10 kms everyday. They go into the forests to fetch firewoods, they go to the stream to fetch water and the list goes on.

Bros, our parents really suffered. I don't envy them.

i Agree with you...nowadays the youth cannot even hold a strike for two weeks... Fela said it way before "suffering and smiling " we Nigerians have been brought up by our government to manage ...we Manage everything ... we don't have a say .
Our parent went thru hard times... and we are facing ours..I don't think they won the battle neither would we..that's why we seek greener pasture elsewhere... it is all man for 'em selves .. forget about Nigeria and move on because Nigeria starts and Ends at Aso rock.

@Ghostpapi, thanks for posting. I have a family member that just applied to George Brown College and it's been six weeks but they haven't decided on admission. This is surprising given that most colleges normally respond within a week or thereabouts. Are long admission decision times normal for George Brown?

Also, what is your opinion of the college insofar as their education quality. Thanks.

you are welcome... that's strange, it shouldn't take up to that plus what program is your fam applying for? the education quality is good it might depend on the program and instructor..i did have issues with some instructors here and most of it had to do with them knowing too much and don't know how to break it down to students As we all know PGD is advanced diploma they try to give you so much information within a short time it can be overwhelming tho but , a little bit of study plan will take care of that aside that ..I think everything is great..and George Brown is one of the top if not the top respected College in Toronto by employees compated to others

is the application for September intake? if it is for September I think it was quite late to apply 6weeks back and they may have volumes of applications to go thru during summer and trust me a lot of staffs 'generally' go on leave during this time lol..but I guess the program should have a January intake so if the admission comes late you can differ till January.

well any program in Technology , multimedia ,web design I think the College is very good choice , tho am not at the St James campus where your fam will be taking the program but there is a good proximity

Hello fam. I was going to apply for Bachelor of Petroleum Tech at SAIT, but the tuition turned me to Usain Bolt. However, I will be starting my MS in Power Eng in Germany, tuition-free, come October. I feel this is a smarter move, considering that the school is ranked top 60 globally. Ultimately, I would like to work in Canada after my study, as I have learnt that Power Engineers are highly remunerated in CA. What are the possibilities of securing employment with a Canadian firm from outside Canada? I am considering doing internship with a Canadian firm while studying. Are they known to give full-time employment to foreign-institution students who do internship with them, after their study?
Somebody, please...
