If they have a threshold for selection, why not use this to send success messages once and for all. With that they won't keep people's hope up. I think success to the next stage is not only based on the online test. In addition, I think they keep sending invites in batches because they have not gotten the desired number of successful candidates for this stage(those that have gotten to the desired threshold).

My numericals were harder than normal. At a point my assessment timed out because I had to calculate percentages using scores of figures (I'm not exaggerating). The verbal was pretty straight forward, although I failed a question out of carelessness. From what Mintek has said above, I think it's better one were given time-based tests than what it is. You never know what bar you're measuring up against.

All the best, guys.

I refreshed and I got a warning that I'll be disconnected if I exit one more time.

But I only answered 5 questions (4 + one more after I refreshed) in Numericals and it said Assessment complete.

What does it mean?

Mintek:

Guys, I do not intend to burst anyone's bubble, I just deem it imperative (for the sake of those who are still to take their assessments) to let us know that getting a success response after completing the assessment is no guarantee for progression to the ensuing phases. grin

Computer Adaptive Tests (CATs) are designed fundamentally to administer questions to test-takers based on their ability levels. Default algorithms in the testing system adjust the difficulty level of questions, to match the knowledge and ability level of the individual test-takers, based on the previous responses/answers provided.

In other words, if you answer a question wrongly, the next question will DEFINITELY be much easier, while a much tougher one awaits you if you answer a question correctly.

Now, since CATs select questions tailored to match a test-takers's ability level, most examinees are likely to get high scores- which makes a "success message" received after the test meaningless UNTIL a test-taker's (recorded) ability level is measured against the ability threshold/benchmark set by the recruiting organization, to see if a candidate is intelligent and smart enough to be hired.
This means that progression to the next phase entails much more than just receiving a success mail...final success in the assessment is actually based on the NUMBER OF CORRECT ANSWERS and of course the DIFFICULTY LEVEL OF QUESTIONS administered to you.

The reason you cannot go back to review previous questions is to prevent devious candidates from tricking the system by deliberately answering questions wrongly, so as to get very easy succeeding questions ...after which they can now go back, review and answer all the previous questions correctly. grin

Since CATs measure speed, precision, accuracy and ability level, if you're administered very few questions before you're told "Assessment Completed", then chances are that you either got a score well above the set pass score or way below the pass score.

For example, if you get your first 2 or 3 questions all correct, your assessment may end right there, meaning you've got very high ability level, as there may be no tougher questions available in the pool to administer you. On the other hand, if you get the first 3 questions all wrong, the assessment for that section may also be terminated at that point, meaning that though the system understands you've got low ability level, unfortunately there are no easier questions (than the ones already administered you) left in the pool for your level.

Finally, as a tip for those who are still to take the assessment, the first question administered is in most cases of medium difficulty, please answer it correctly so you can get tougher succeeding questions...because the tougher the questions you answer correctly, the brighter your chances of getting selected for the next phase.

Also, don't get caught by the booby trap of "unlimited time" (test not timed). The assessment is not timed but try to work as fast as you can, while ensuring accuracy because in the end, only candidates who answer the toughest questions, within the shortest time and with the highest precision and accuracy level will stand out of the pack.

Good luck everyone.

Next time before you make any finally conclusion on forum, issues or threads, try to get all your facts right.
Have you gone through GSK recruitment site and read carefully each phases before offer letter is given?

Is not hidden from anyone, its on there website. You have to Go through Four phases starting from submission of Application, online interview, interview(phone, video or face-to-face), assessment center where you work in team and individual task given. Then Offer letter for successful candidates.

Carefully stated "dont try to impress or think that you no want we are looking for, just be yourself"

Whoever has applied, written the test and got a success mail.. Its just still part of the process to the next phase, keep your hopes alive even if everything says otherwise..

Chill bro. He is telling the truth. Haven't you noticed almost everyone gets a success mail after the test? There is no "cut off" mark allocated yet. When they are done with all the testing phases, they will allocate a cut off mark and reject those who fall below it simply. That's what they mean by reviewing your application.

Oh and your essays on your online form also matter after this stage. They'll read it and make a decision as to whether you're a good fit for GSK or not.

some people actually failed this online test, for some in doubt, go through the nairaland thread for gsk 2015 recruitment. it doesnt mean that every one who got d success mail will proceed to the next stage which is the phone interview, some will still get dropped after d online test based on the personality test and the essay in your application..so pls unless u r a gsk HR personnel...let them make the decisions..

For me I think we should all stop this argument and move on, we did our test @ different times or under different conditions and circumstances, and at the same time, all of us are right...., even if you don't make it to the next stage fine...its an experience and better days are ahead...If you do...congrats but you are not better than those than didn't make it, life is all about grace not what you have upstairs....GSK recruitment to me is a season movie...Let just wait for the next episode...But for the mean time let keep our finger crossed and let stop tackling ourselves or discouraging those yet to get an invite....

This process seems slow. Anyone with phone interview or assessment schedule?
Re: Future Leaders Programme Graduate (2016) With GSK by ghostntommy: 11:15pm On Aug 22, 2016
From my observations and opinion, i think some people are not comfortable with the fact that a lot of applicants are getting success mail. Well, the earlier you accept the better for you.
Moreso, for those thinking the process is slow, i want to believe this people have a target time frame. So, all things are working together.......?...

Lol, I suspect you haven't written a test like this before.

There is a reason why it's called a CAT

Wait for it.....
