patches689: The M-60s are not old either, Turkish army M-60s have been upgraded with modern FCS, Armour and a more powerful engine. The Turks have a powerful military though. I love the combination of Tanks and ACV-15s. Tanks have proven to be very relevant in COIN/LICW. |

The newly appointed Kenya Army Commander Lieutenant General Robert Kibochi in the month of August 2016 has taken his time in visiting army Operational Bases. Lieutenant General Kibochi replaced Lieutenant General Leonard Ngondi was appointed the new National Defense College (NDC) Commander in the recent past mini-reshuffle by the Commander in Chief. lieutenant General Kibochi has visited several army units including the long range surveillance unit. Locations and army forward operational bases visited by the army commander include Garissa Camp, Gerille Camp, Dill Camp, Libodi Camp, Dobley and the Manda Base. Such visits by military commanders are aimed at taking stock of what is happening in the military units/bases including successes and challenges. The visits are also a morale booster to the military men and women serving gallantly defending the sovereignty of their nation, Kenya.

ViceAdmiral: In the images the F-7s have not missiles. I however suspect PL-5s and/or PL-9s. SIPRI alledged Namibia imported Grifo-MG radars. Considering the KLJ-6F (SD-10 capable) was already available, it would be interesting why they would have gone for the Grifo unless it was at least equivalent.

bidexiii: NNS Ambe is inoperable. They could be put back to sea, however extensive work has to be done on them first. The Navy is looking at building or procuring additional Landing ship to either replace Ambe or work alongside Ambe. 1 Like |

gottfried21: Your MRAPs are so good, you guys could compete with South-African on MRAP sales or maybe compliment South-Africa on sales. Not a lot of information available. This PMC Wolf MRAP is one of the sexist i've seen. |

Henry240:Not really. The market for these vehicles shrunk after the US withdrawal from Iraq and reduction in Afghanistan. UAE, The cowards(Saudis ofcourse) and other middle east countries are the only countries still acquiring armoured vehicles. Here in Africa only small numbers are acquired(Less than 50 most of the time). |

Henry240: They are good but we do not have the political/financial muscle to compete against South-Africa, by the way Windhoeker MaschinenFabrik is on life support right now, ruling party deployees crash landed it to the extent that our MoD once refused to accept goods from it,managers from its sister Comms company Sat-Com are trying to revive it,its been 5 years since they even updated their web site

MikeCZA: That US market was already been filled by American, European and Australian vehicles. At a point we saw products from China, Turkey and the UAE filling up. No matter how small it now is, companies across the world still remained profitable. The Vehicles made for the African market should be durable, low maintenance and cheaper. A lot countries would still buy, for starters all the countries in West-Africa still have a requirement for MRAPs, but not at $500,000 a unit. |

ViceAdmiral: ..... And that's a major problem, information on this MRAP is so scarce. That's why i also included compliment. It's a pity about the company's current status. I hope it gets revived. The good path is, we probably see more photos of the vehicle when AAD 2016 commences in South-Africa. |

Re-Post Significantly larger video-cut showing the rear of NNS Karaduwa, Nigerian navys recently launched 40 meters Seaward Defence Boat. I'm very excited with the outcome of this vessel, quite pleased with it's general design. I also actively publicized it as much as a could, although the Navy's publicity so far has being beyond abysmal, actually non-existent, it is still joyous to see the navy invest in significant local content. Hopefully in the coming days, weeks or months we would be able to see how she looks from the front. 4 more vessels like these and our midshore - Inshore security would be adequately insured.

Henry240:Companies like BAE land systems SA(Now Denel vehicle systems) and other SA companies sold many vehicles to the coalition forces in Iraqi and Afghanistan. I'm not really certain about the West African requirement. Only a handful vehicles have been acquired so far. With Nigeria to be specific I think it is a doctrine issue. |

jakeporeshenko: I loved the part where the COAS said "they should clear their doubts". Army amphibious guys are heavily armed. Those Chinese bulletproof would soon make a come back. This exercise is imperative, criminal elements have to be flushed out of those creeks before things get out of hands. 1 Like |
