You water down the strength of the argument when you bring it down to the "number of states". What we should be looking at is the population. That is the major determinant (or should be).

Why are you talking out of your ass. Dis you ho to school at all and if you did, did you not study statistics and how you compare sets of data?

Enugu as the state with the highest allocation in the South East should not be compared with states with the lowest allocation in other zones but with states that have the highest allocation also in other zones.

Little wonder you lot have cut of marks of 2/100 and still go to the same school with someone from Anambra who needs a cut off mark of 139/200.

Your statement epitomizes ignorance.

In terms of Land mass, Niger State is bigger than Kano State.

In terms of population, Lagos is more populated than Kano.

Is common sense really scarce, huh?

Following a thread https://www.nairaland.com/3318714/omokri-reacts-distribution-capital-projects which has made front page and the kind of response people havw been making i decide to do a little research and this is what i came up with.

That the bulk of the North central capitql buget (77%) actually went to FCT.
This same report has been made public by many newspaper online since june .only that it wasnt as graphic as The channels news version

Does it matter? the highest any SS got is 10b while even a State like Akwa Ibom got 1. something Billion. is this what you call fairness?

Brother, you have mentioned the marginalisation of the north even though states such as Akwa Ibom State (N1.92 billion) and Bayelsa State (N3.21 billion) contribute largely to the income used to finance the Nigerian budget but are not provided with the adequate government infrastructural development and you wonder why there is militancy. Let us be fair to ourselves. it is bad enough that some states can not sustain themselves without resource sharing formula. You need to know that in most developed countries, states such as Dubai control its resources without little interference from Abu Dhabi.

God bless Nigeria
Okay, militancy would bring about the needed development I presume. Do you people even listen to yourselves when you speak??

Do other states get the derivation the oil producing states get?? Why can't they ever hold their state governments to account?? What have the respective state governments done with the monies accrued to the states over the years??

I am educating you so better sit down and learn.

In terms of Land mass, Niger State is bigger than Kano State.

In terms of population, Lagos is more populated than Kano.

So your point is useless to be frank.

If Kano should get more allocation because it is bigger than all South Eastern states, then Lagos or Niger should get a higher allocation than Kano depending on whatever point(population or landmass) you hypocrites choose.

The total naira value of project allocated to Kano state alone is more than the entire South East. Am from middle belt but I feel very uncomfortable with this figure. What is that special about Kano? The landmass, Abacha LG or the questionable population? Mr president, we have to be more sensitive to the cry of every member of this Union called Nigeria. If we are not happy with the activities of IPOB etc, we should at least prove them wrong that Nigeria belive in equity.

Waste of time, the Reno Omokri post has gone viral, many social media platforms are reporting it. Saw one on facebook and the comments there were not palatable. I can tell you authoritatively that the hatred for Buhari in the Southeast has increased ten fold after reno's exposition. Many of the Southeasterners commenters see it as the confirmation of the hatred Buhari has for the Igbos. You see bro, it is too late

Now that they are marginalizing Akwa Ibom, nobody will say anything but when they start carrying arms they will complain. Imagine a state which is the highest producer of crude oil being giving the least in the entire Federation 1.92 billion.

Northerners are so blinded by their illiteracy the they see nothing wrong in this. Akwa Ibom state which contributes a sizeable portion of the revenue been shared has just 1bn!!!! In allocation, remove Delta, rivers and Akwa Ibom and FG will be damn broke.. and someone is saying Kano landmass or population with 50% almajiris that contribute nothing to FG is a criteria for the unexplainable billions alllocated to it. Let south south form their own Republic and watch how the North will become Somalia in 6months

The distribution of the capital projects is obviously not justifiable, although it is not as bad as is being painted by sensational journalists and divisive politicians. Whoever compiled this list and included the FCT budget as part of the NORTH-central is obviously being intentionally dubious and divisive especially as the breakdown did not think it necessary to include NDDC funds and Niger-Delta ministry funds as part of the Niger-Delta funds.

FCT getting 41% of these capital expenditure makes one to wonder what they plan to build with all these. The argument about the landmass which always results in the south-east zone always being shortchanged is also not justified especially when population is considered. These are the kind of imbalances one would have expected Igbo leaders in the NASS to stand up against and fight, but it's obvious they have other priorities such as rushing to the tribunal with Saraki and Ekweremmadu.

All in all, this is just budget No. 1 out of 4.

I have my reservations concerning the capital projects distribution across the states and also the regions.

I believe the parameters for determination of capital projects for the regions were flawed.

Some regions and states were not adequately covered in the distribution of the capital projects.

I think capital projects proposal for all the regions should be comprehensive, the selection process should engage ranking and prioritization of these projects to ensure fairness and equitable distribution.

As you don turn information minister, explain why North West should get far more than South East and South South combined.

Explain why Kano alone shld get 32b which is twice what Lagos got and far more what the entire SE got

The amount allocated to Kano is actually more than sixteen times the paltry 1.9b allotted to Akwa Ibom, and then balance that with the fact that Akwa Ibom contributes more to the Federatn account
