I thought he was not serious. I even bought the large batch because I got a new job and cannot afford to hold on to cash in this type of galloping inflation. I never knew it will get real this soon. When he called me to break the news yesterday he was like "do you now believe me?"

In this case the seller is not crying because he collected his money with profit and must have bought another batch. Sometimes we leave funds in the hands of dealers who use our funds to trade for upwards of 6 months while we wait for the time to lift our stock when ready for the job.

You are correct sir, these things aren't as simple as I first thought.
I can recollect a story my mum told me some years ago about a case involving her dad and some neighbors about a land and they went to court.
The case took so many years but it went in favor of my grand dad and consequently he won the house built on it also. The families were never close after.
The owner of the building may decide to demolish the building rather than abandon it for the winner of the case.
It's very likely the house was hurriedly built while the land was in contention, possibly based on advise by some ignorant person just as most think building fence or some structure would deter the other party.

We live in a country where ANYBODY feels they can just slap ANY PRICE on what they sell and that is it.

If Govt tries to control prices (so people sell at a reasonable price based on what they bought), WE the same Nigerians will shout DICTATORSHIP!
If Govt says Okay, l wont interfere as you people want market forces to determine price, what we get is GREEDY & EXPLOITATIVE Nigerians taking advantage of each other.

lol. You can get independent updates on your site by spending 1000 naira on credit for a random person. They will go there and take full pictures and even video for you. If the property is in a big city, you can do this within 24 hours. Plenty people will be willing to take the offer.

You can:
1) Send N1m to someone. That will cover the cost of hiring helicopter to give you aerial photos and videos.
2) Buy drone from aliexpress for about $750!
3) Tell the person snapping the picture to use a very tall selfie stick and snap so it will look like aerial pix.

I invite others who are more ingenious to give their suggestions too. 'There are many ways to kill a bird. Using bomb is one of them - no miss.

LOL! How about climbing the tallest tree around the area and use a camera with a wide-angle lens to take an aerial view of the land.

U can check it on free google, I did mine like that as far as you know the landscape, you wont get a l ive still as you need the google car to go fru there but you can make out the shapes of you build

I checked Google first. Unfortunately, they don't seem to update their satellite images often. The area where my land is, is still shown as bush.

Just two days ago a member here was telling me how he wanted to make sure he bought all his plumbing materials before the end of this week cos he had fears of a possible inflation next week in light of the new forex regime and the cement price hike.
I was busy reassuring him and emphasizing on the need not to worry that there would hardly be any serious impact in plumbing or electrical. But to my utmost and greatest astonishment prices have escalated in the last 48hrs alone, first it was legrand with 30% on tuesday, and then the calls kept coming. some importers are even putting sale on hold for fear of loosing money in the event of a continued upward trend
half of the calls i got today were price change notifications. Infact I was a victim of the market shock reaction today.
I was on the veeeeerge of canceling all the orders i already got paid for, it took a lot of considerations, renegotiations and loss absorption . Oga chux u talk am oooo

I hate to be an Alarmist but Folks The Threat is REAL!!! The Panic is setting In. And BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU , Alot is about to happen in the coming week.

Please folks who deal in other materials, do good to share happenings in your market. I think it would be great if we kept a flow of information.

Very true. It's about to get very real as my humble supplier is not even ready to sell some plumbing items to me today. I had to scream and later beg before he agreed to get me some quantity.

Building cost is about to get higher than we imagined. Everyone should look before they take the plunge of accepting Naira to carry out contracts. The situation is getting frightening.
