1. Whilst you may find software that will partition you HDD with the OS installed I'd always recommend backup your personal files and use the partition software you wish to use.

If you have a product key, get a copy of Windows 8 on a bootable USB and partition on reinstalling Windows.

Set C: 80-120GB, rest for data and change the default folder location for your downloads, documents, videos and pictures to the second partition.

2. If the device is not listed in Device Manager you aren't likely to have a dedicated GPU. Did you verify this information I device manager?

3. Using a charger with higher amperage will charge it faster. Most laptops will stop charging when the battery is full. Please confirm the voltage and amperage of the original charger and that of the charger you wish to use.

Thanks for your quick reply.

1. I don't wish to partition the hard disk drive using external third party applications. I intend using the default Disk Management tool that has the ability of shrinking volume, extend partition, create partition and also format partition. According to online tutorials, if done properly, I don't need to backup my files as the C: hard drive will not be formatted.

2. The system is currently off due to pathetic power in my area, as soon as power is restored, I'll confirm and upload screenshot for advise.

3. I don't have the original charger that was first tested with the PC at the point of purchase that latter stopped charging the PC, but I remember that the output voltage was 18.5V. The capacity of the charger I'm using currently with it are as follow;

INPUT: 100-240V ~ 1.5A(1.5A) 50-60Hz

OUTPUT: 19V(19V) --- 4.74A(4.74A) - O + 90W

Just a little addendum to what the poster above me (AKBliv010) said:

1. Whilst you may find software that will partition you HDD with the OS installed I'd always recommend backup your personal files and use the partition software you wish to use...if the system came pre-installed, I'll say aside your personal files backup the SWSETUP folder as well, since this is where all the drivers and the pre-installed applications are. Backing up this folder would save you time and when you need to reinstall your driver's after you are done installing Windows.

2. If the device is not listed in Device Manager you aren't likely to have a dedicated GPU. Did you verify this information I device manager?
...he might have a dedicated GPU, but improper driver installation might not make it turn up in Device Manager, unless he knows what to look for.

Thanks for your input.

1. The system didn't come pre-installed with a windows 8.1 pro operating system. It came with windows 7, Ultimate I think. Though, I'll backup my files and driver folder as you and the poster before advised.

2. Please, what do I need to look for?

Actually on that report you have Windows update to never install drivers. I think that's your issue. Allow driver updates.

Then I suspect you need to install the drivers for the Infinix Hot 2. Download the drivers from the link below

Then watch this video for installation process. Hope it helps

Update it to the latest, if that doesn't work try the older versions

You mean the display is kinda dark to see or the keyboard backlight; which exactly? Could you upload the picture?

Thanks brother. I thought it was inverter board problem, just to discover the computer (a new generation hp) doesn't have an inverter board like the likes of DV6.
