Yes, picking a cabinet of trustworthy people is not the easiest thing to do for a Nigerian president but for you to continue insisting that he took the right time even with his selection of EFCC candidates - appointing the same people who took the FG to court for not sharing the federal reserves among states - only makes me wonder your motive. Anyway, good luck and thanks for the information.

No motive. Just fact. I think it was right taking time. Rushing the cabinet might land us in a worse situation than were we are now. There are already rumors of sabotage. Imagine if it was rushed, it would have more effects.

As long as the Perm. Secs were working, taking time was right.

My dear, I wonder o. It appears all the reasonable Nairalanders have disappeared, leaving only the 5% people to make senseless, useless and annoying comments. It's a shame!

We haven't dissapeared just got tired of trying to make sense because we will be seen as tribalists no matter how hard we try becos many people have their minds already made up.

Buhari scrapped the e-wallet, they clapped.

he has reinstated it & some people are here trying to twist the tale.

by the way, those who shout that savings were not made, please tell, was APC expecting to come & meet loads of cash to spend?

if subsidy had been allowed way back in 2012, an additional $20b-$30b would have been sitting pretty in the foreign reserves.

you crucify him for trying to remove subsidy & you crucify him for not saving.

Electronic wallet for fertiliser is now " agricultural policy"?.
What kind of schools do we have in Nigeria?. Every idiot and half educated PDP e-rat is just posting rubbish online.
Mere IT enablement of a distribution process is now POLICY?
The same way laying 50 km of rail track and putting a loco on it was TRANSFORMATION I guess.

This e-wallet should even be scrapped. Konga, Jumia and other systems would do a better job of things and are more robust

Yep.

They came in with so much hate and bigotry but bereft of ideas. Hate can help you brainwash tribalistic/sectarian Nigerians but it cannot help you formulate and implement good policies for national development.

It is now becoming obvious to them that whatever the flaws in GEJ's policies & implementations, most of his policies were well-thought through: agric policy, removal of fuel subsidy, continued and new ideas on national rail, e-payment to wield out ghost workers, less effort to pursue corrupt people but instead stop corruption from happening, FOI Bill, free and fair elections, respect for legal pronouncements, etc. Yet, they demonised all BUT now gradually coming back to them. But they will have wasted much time by then.

Despite all claim of corruption against GEJ's govt, Nigerian economy grew fast. Fuelled by private sector boom. Petrol/oil is less than 30% of our GDP.

So Nigeria's massive growth was not based on oil, but sound policies, lead by an international economist of repute, NOI.

If we have less oil income, should policy makers not carefully consider that fact first?

Gbam. I keep telling people Oil is marginal to our GDP output and we really don't get access to it directly. How many Nigerians really work in that sector? Money we make from international remittances is fantastic. About 20$ billion a year. That is raw cash passing through our economy which was d biggest supply of money in the black market. That stabilized the economy to a great deal. Yet, Buhari scattered and confused the entire monetary policy thereby messing up that source. Our entire annual budget is 20$ billion so remittances was a big deal. GEJ allowed every business to mind their business. Buhari wants everything to pass through federal which is how he messed up d policy. He wants ur families hard earned dollars to go to the federal government. Doesn't make sense. So many other misteps. But our problem is not oil decline. Of has turned to an excuse for more corruption.

Well-done. Keep making excuses for corruption and corrupt people because they are your friends and family.
How N57billion worth of fertilizers, like arms money, got consumed by 'ghosts ' under GEJ administration, in your opinion, is pardonable.

Which N57b. When did this story start? This is no more campaign mode oh. All those lies are done. We had surplus food. It was worth the spent 57b spent so let them stop used nd d word corruption. I think they use that word when d project was done by GEJ and not them. The reason we buy everything at double the price is because that money is not being spent anymore. We are tired of this propaganda. It ain't working anymore.

The idiotic thing about your post is that Nigeria's monetary policy is not different from 75 percent of all the countries in the world that are free market. It is actually edgier than the UK not to talk of many European countries .
You are just speaking big English for nothing.
We have devalued the Naira and done something to the interest rates so foreign money will come in . It is a waiting game. I use not less than six systems for transferring money to Nigeria and all the rates have improved considerably close to black market rates in the last three months.
We need to stop this stupid smug attitude of poo pooing our country because oil market fell and we corruptly wrecked ourselves. We can build it back if we work hard , innovate and stop stealing as a culture.

In tue Naira value, if you are knowledge - able enough, the real reason Naira fell recently was because of Niger Delta pipeline bombing against the outflow for forex backing for Dangote refinery, defence equipment, especially airforce jets and counterpart funding for projects with China.
All very temporary. Nigeria's economy will improve this quarter.

Well said, many of us share the same beliefs that underlies your comment, however it is only well channelled and driven policies that can produce results, all talk and no decisive steps taken by the government is out problem many of us are screaming about not essentially about a Northern man.If the borders are shut then systems should be in place to sensitize the nation to produce and then produce backing or levies so people are stimulated to be productive.Trust me sir all of this is lacking so should people not be angry ? How can rice every average Nigerian skyrocket from about 10k to about 25k in just a year ? and we want people not to feel bad. Unlike Europe and other countries when prices jump up in Nigeria it doesnt reduce back putting pressure on people's wallet so should people not get angry ?

Zombie, investors don't need low oil price to invest in an economy. Favourable economic policies is the key which the dullard in Aso rock clearly lacks.

He is now scampering to resurrect GEJ policies he jettisoned.

You are too dull.

The handwriting is already on the wall. Sooner or later, everybody will read it. By then the professional apologists shall have exhausted their stock of excuses and Nigerians will no longer be willing to listen to the familiar canard about how the previous government is responsible for every problem the world is facing today. For now let the gullible continue to delude themselves.
