Jesusbabygirl:What are the requirements for F-2 that is a hurdle? F-2 and F-1 which is more of hurdle? I think you got a wrong information. F-2 is as easy as just walking to the international student office with your marriage certificate and her passport information with a new copy of your bank statement. No Sevis fee required, no application fee required, no sop required, you are free to stay in as much as your husband maintains his status. You can even decide to switch to F-1 when you're ready which is also a smooth process. That's just by the way. Since you have the admission and would want to apply for a n F-1 be prepared to answer questions. 3 Likes |

Hi friends is it necessary to pay a tuition deposit to a usa school. Does this help during a visa I interview. The school I applied to have already sent my F1 form and they don't require this payment before you arrive but I am just wondering if paying a tuition deposit would actually guarantee me getting the visa. |

prettysolid: No it doesnt guarantee , not even full scholarship guarantee . It still how you perform and answer well during your interview . I will not even recommend you pay tuition because those who have and were not given , the hassle to transfer the money back |

mokorie: Congrats on your visa ...... You dont need to prepare much for POE, just have all your school document with you and not in a checked bag. Then listen carefully to any questions asked at POE and just answer accordingly ..... Hopefully you shouldnt spend more then one to five minutes there and off you go as long as you are a credible student . Also you must enter before the start date on your i20 |

surgeonheric: She will need to apply for Bsc, or do top up. Only the school can say for sure. She must ask them. She can take daughter but must have (lots of) money for day care or nanny. Poor school with no ranking can definitly affect application for visa. 1 Like |

surgeonheric: what type of degree will she be applying for .........lol. Only she would know what her career ambition and path is But to answer generally , after HND you can go directly to Masters depending on the GPA that WES or others covert it to Yes her daughter can go under f2 visa. It will be stressful and expensive schooling with a child especially if the child is not of primary school age(from Elementary school upward before the child can go to school free in the public school) ......but others have done it and survived somehow I cannot say what affects visa or not .......If the school is accredited and not under the table or informally blacklisted then you should be alright even with 8,000 students .......However , She would have to explain why she choose that school (that would be key) |

slimmy2005: First question: Yes Second question: My school somewhat adjusted her grade scores. For instance A=4 point, B=3.2, C=2.4 and D=1.6; so i had to be certain of the grade my GPA falls into. On using WES evaluator, i had to input my original score in each subject not the grades; doing that my GPA increased by 0.05. |

EncephalonPikin: If you are looking for full funding , the first place to start is taking the SAT and Toefl and not just taking it but reading very well for it and scoring high .......... Its only after you have your SAT scores that you can truly assess what your funding opportunities are (blc your WAEC GPA is quite low for full funding) . ......a lot are based on your SAT scores. would I use my waec GPA or my normal sec. school GPA.... some schools used both or one so really depends on each school requirement. A lot will use mainly WAEC |

Hey. Check Kansas State University http://www.he.k-state.edu/fndh/grad/requirements.html Email the graduate program director and try to score high on the GRE. They fund many of their students there. RasheedahWunmi: 4 Likes |

The path this thread is heading is not a good one. If we continue like this, this thread would die one day. I don't know what stops people from reading previous parts/pages. I think part 7 contains all the info you need. Aadeyi I hope you're good? It's been a while |

damiliano:Hi! Congrats on getting a BS. The next step is to sit down, and examine your undergraduate days. You're searching for what part of Banking & Finance will suit you best. As per courses in which you performed your best, courses you really loved and felt inordinately passionate about, which lecturers can vouch for your in-class and out-of-class diligence, and what you plan to do with the MSc. These will help you to; - Put your best foot forward by presenting an attractive transcript and academic records - Get glowing hot letters of recommendation from lecturers who taught you - Convince the admission committee members that you'd be a great +1 to the incoming MS program in your desired school All of these will help you to submit an application packet that not only stands out, but gets you attracted to several faculty members in your proposed school who would like to have you in the MS program. And it gets pretty much simple from here. Simple, not easy. Because you'd need to be motivated through the long, daunting process of applying and enrolling into a US MS program. Next, - Find out 5 schools strong in your desired area of specialty - Take the GRE, and aim to score in 90's percentiles across all sections So, you don't get overwhelmed, I'd need to stop here, and let you do something today. One step at a time. I wish you the best. 5 Likes |

EncephalonPikin:Admission + Full funding? Bro, I think that's cutting it too close. If you're interested in studying in the US, then it has to be both ways. Schools in US should also be interested in having you on the next cohort of freshmen. In top schools, to get admission is even neck-breakingly competitive; and so you don't get deceived by US News rankings, US schools have standards, and International students are generally at a disadvantage. If you apply, assume you'd be competing with top students from decent high schools all over the world, and that you need to identify what can make you truly stand out. That GPA doesn't stand out. If you take the SAT, and score very highly, you might be outstanding though. Also, if you've done something truly remarkable, and achieved considerable success, such that people see it as something hard to do or coy, then you also stand a chance to be considered. Those are the most obvious ways, in my opinion, of getting admission + full funding. 2 Likes |
