1. 50 books for N12,000
2. Shipping charges range from N700 to N1500 depending on your location
3. He can mix up the books according to age. So mamas, you can buy books in the age 0-5 years group, 0-3 years group, 6-12 years group, 0-6 years group

Yaba mums (rofemiguwa, rhukie and cutiereborn), your total is N13,000 (12+N1000 shipping). If you can get a 4th person, you will end up paying N3,250 for 12-13 books. That's a good deal. If you agree, pls nominate one person from your group to collect payment and also collect the books from Kidco. May I suggest Rofemiguwa because she is working in Yaba which means her address is probably easiest to find for all of you?

The baby is 12 weeks, I assume there should be nothing to clean in the navel! It ought to be completely healed by now. The hot water massage is just for fun, my mum says it was needed those days of tetanus. Now we all take shots for that during pregnancy.

Sabi mamas if navel still hasn't healed shouldn't she go see a doctor?

Make sure baby empties breast. That ought to prevent green poo. You could also start his feed from the breast he ended with during his last feed.

I was sure I saw a younger age for the baby! The lack of sleep is catching up I guess

@ dunamit, after I had my baby, my mum made sure that I sit on kitchen chair always, that was the only chair that I was allowed to sit on, because she said that if I fail to sit on kitchen chair that I would fart uncontrollable.
My FIL also said the same thing.
Other experienced mama's will contribute, maybe they might have other advices or belief.
My baby is 7 weeks old and am very ok.

Mitchyy if you can actually get palm kernel oil it should work for the rash. Also I hear it's better for diaper to be bigger than child than to be smaller as per nappy rash.

Welldone on feeding your baby so sufficiently that they're having blow outs. When you wear the pampers make sure the inner elastic is turned inwards while the outer one is outwards (i was proudly turning inner outwards before I read this instruction on an Angel diaper pack). That way poo should only leak from the top.

When baby poops turn him upside down on your lap immediately, this might minimise poo stains to the clothes.

Lol. I never even knew there is a term for it. The blow outs are just so funny.

I have palm kernel oil, the original one. That's what i've been using for his skin. I'll start applying it on the affected areas now.

For about to wean mums, here is a good chart showing what can be given. By the way, If you are giving pap, add milk and crayfish to it. Pap is calorie-dense but poor nutritionally (I checked there are studies done by Nigerian doctors and published online about pap). From 8 months you can start adding spices like Nutmeg and Cinammon to their food. But no honey till after 12 months, Botulism is real. They sell almost all of those fruits and foods in Nigeria, including tofu (I know you can get some in Freedom Park and it is called Wara in the market). Papaya is Pawpaw (it will encourage stooling in constipated babies). Golden melon and watermelon are great (especially if we have babies refusing to drink water, water melon has 92% water). P

You need to use any brand of fomular . As he is still below 6 months i would suggest you use the one from birth to 6 months usually indicated with 1

After 6 months, use follow-on milk , usually indicated with a 2

I would have also said breastmilk, but i dont think it works well with pap. Lilkely to make it too runny!

What if you make the pap extra thick?

Also when using breast milk for cereal, do you use same quantity as formula? E.g if for formula you mix 3 spoons milk to 3 spoons cerelac, in 180ml (6oz) of water. For bm what qty will you need for 3 spoons of cereal?

I think at that age you can give raw pureed apple. Does he have teeth, If he does he can try chewing very small chunks of raw apple. Apparently learning to chew teaches them how to use their jaw and talk.

Just add one tablespoon at a time till you reach the desired consistency. Thats what i do.

Even for formular i use one scoop per 1 level tablespoon of cereal (the calibrated type you use for baking that comes a set . It is 15ml) so i use 2 of that of water per scoop of formular then i add one to three extra spoons of water depending on the cereal to get the right consistency.

The fart I know is called "Quaffing" where you are passing air through your vajayjay. It is embarrassing but that is Motherhood for you! for me I noticed it happened more when the fan was in my direction and I wasn't wearing undies. But it can be cured, your vajayjay is all muscles so it can be toned. Try doing Kegel exercises (the muscles you use for peeing, squeeze them 20 times every hour). I guess that is why our mothers make us sit down on stool. Whichever method works, please go for it.
