Nigeria as we know was brought together to be one nation in 1914 by the merging together of the colonial Northern and Southern protectorates. Since then, both regions have evolved uniquely and has shared one or two similarities and differences altogether.
However, the differences of the divisions of Nigeria really seem to be very pronounced and some people have seen Nigeria as a nation of two different countries in one entity.

This thread is aimed at showing the beauty of some examples of famous Northern and Southern Nigerian intermarriages that have occured over the years out of so many and also to get the opinions of nairalanders on whether Inter-regional, inter-tribal and inter-religious marriages should be encouraged in Nigeria as a tool for National integration and Unity.

What are your opinions?

Interesting thread by OP smiley

But i think most of the northern/southern inter regional marriages in Nigeria occur between the South and the Middlebelt part of the north. Core northernerns do not seem to marry southernerns a lot except for maybe yoruba muslims.

Seriously, what is your definition of everyday? Do u feel everything in a wedding is sponsored by the couples themselves? Yes there are christians in the north of which i am one and trust me, our men do not answer a name like Abdul rasaq, it's a pure islamic name.

you come across as someone who has been an Aso ebi girl one too many times......which makes you too old for me.
now that we have that out of the way..... i should also reiterate that i'm not trolling.
try creating a thread in the culture or fashion section and see if i turn up there.
i'm more active here and as simple logic will dictate, most threads created in this section wander into my line of vision.

and sadly,i don't have a sister. tongue
