Thought you got your legalized certificate yesterday.
I also collected my legalized documents today.
zendman:
Hi all, for those who school didn't allow them to pay their complete tuition fee, this I is for you. I spoke with the visa officers and explained to them about my school policy they said I should bring an evidence of the amount paid and the other balance should be in my account. Which is subject to verification. So if u fall in this category u can apply. Meanwhile I finally collected my legalised certificate today.

Good day all.
Please advise me,I went to spanish embassy today to submit my application. They refuse to collect the letter my school gave me.they also state in that letter that I will pay the remaining money on my arrival.secondly I paid about 315k for one month accommodation in hotel.they refuse to collect it that they need receipt from school.

Kindly advise me on what to do.
Re: Spanish Student Visas by zendman: 9:39pm On Sep 05, 2016
Did u go with the original or scanned receipt of deposit of the amount paid? I feel you should have gotten a one year accommodation contract with that amount you paid for that hotel. Also did you attach your personal bank statement? Or u used sponsor 's bank statement? Write to the embassy then or let the school send them an email on how the enrolment is done. How can school issue you accommodation receipt when they didn't give you accommodation undecided And lastly is your course of study one year or two years academic calender?

Hiya obycindy,

Sorry about your situation

However, please contact your school and have them write to the consulate here in Lagos about your plight. Also send an email to the consulate explaining your case.

The accommodation thing is a bit cumbersome now. Can you cancel your hotel bookings with minimal penalty? If you can then get a permanent accommodation with one month rent and have the landlord courier the contract to you. Express courier will take 3days max and will cost around €50.

The other option is to write to the embassy about you paying for hotel for one month and explain in clear terms how you intend to sort out your accommodation after its expiration . Please note on the second point I did not do it and have not come across anyone from Nigeria who did, however a classmate of mine from Canada had a similar issue and she wrote to the Spanish Consulate in clear terms how she intends sorting out her accommodation after a few days in the hotel. She was granted visa. You may try it too at least by explaining on email you will get a feed back from the consulate if it will be accepted or not before you can use it for your application.

All the best and by the grace of God, it will surely end up in praise.

@obycindy I think you should try and write to your school that you want to pay full tuition but that the receipt issued must show "refundable" just incase... Also try and cancel your hotel booking and use the cash to pay for a room through uniplaces.com so they can give you the certificate of "paid accommodation". it is well. even U.S no stress student like this cry angry angry

@obycindy.. well done over your submission... how were you able to pull through the earlier challenge that you faced... can you share some of it for others who may be in a similar situation.

As per interview, do not worry to much about, i have submitted mine over a week ago and I equally was not interviewed.

Congrats man! All the best. Thanks for all your contributions, they've really been helpful.
@zendman visa fee is increasing rapidly, if possible when you're going to apply take along 25k or more with smaller denominations (no change policy ish)

Congrats to you bro.

Mhen, I had issue legalizing my documents.

My birth certificate was rejected because of a name that appears on all my other documents but it's missing on my birth certificate.

I had to go and get an attestation of age at National Population Commission at Babs Animashaun. This just got to Abuja today for authentication.

Also I did not stamp the photocopies of my certificate at my school, that I just did now.

They also told me that they will be investigating me.. I just pray they say otherwise when I go back.
Hopefully I will be going back next week or upper because of the Holiday.

My school, UPC said I can't commence my registration untill 5th September. I contacted them now and they said until 26th of September now.

Meanwhile I can't pay my tuition fees until then.

@ Zendman and all my good people here,

I will like to know what will happen to my Police Character Certificate if I am investigated (2 months).

Do I need to get another one.. because it will expire before I can apply for VISA.

I did it on the 4th of August..

Thanks
Re: Spanish Student Visas by zendman: 1:06pm On Sep 08, 2016
You have to do another one and translate and legalise all over again. In fact that Is what is delaying me now. My doc are complete except PCC translation from vivian. The girl or woman self wan make me vex. I go apply tomorrow sha by God's grace.

@objifeanyi Bro, did you "disturb" the embassy through emails to somehow speed up your application process or you did nothing, just waited till they contacted you when your visa was ready?

Hiya Bro, just to add to zendman's contribution. You will have to do another PCC if this one will expire before visa application and you will authenticate and legalize it, however you will only have to do for the pink copy... No need to take fresh finger prints

I did disturb them with e mail but not during submission of visa, it was mostly during to the long wait for legalization, so I reckon they got used to seeing my name on e mail. I will say God's grace and favour because I did not submitted an original contract for my accommodation and also did not photocopy some of my translated documents.

Also worthy of mentioning is my school's intensified efforts in speaking to both the consulate here in Lagos and Madrid to hasten my visa hence it came out in 8days. You could also speak to your school to help you contact the consulate (although I did not ask, my school took it upon themselves to do so).

Just keep faith bro it will surely end in praise.

Hmmm just tired and there is holiday on monday and Tuesday. Meaning I have to wait till Wednesday and my school managed to shift my enrolment from 8 to 15th. And I can't start asking for another letter of postponement now. I will have to submit like that. God dey. Did u give them any of such letter?

Re: Spanish Student Visas by ManCiCi1: 5:59pm On Sep 08, 2016
Thanks. I'm worried my application would take a longer time cos they accepted all my documents except the Medical certificate cos of the omission of "...international health rules of 2005" and I was given 10 working days to get a new one. But Vivian can only get me the translated copy by next week Thursday/friday. So I'm confused if disturbing them with mails would be logical.
Plus which airline do you think is most appropriate and cheaper with our crazy economy and high price of everything in Nigeria.

Yes I have. But my Medical certificate was rejected.
So please this is to reiterate what has always been emphasized for those who are going through this thread. Make sure you follow all their requirements to the letter cos they don't joke around.
I tried to plead for exemption but I was told to "...do the right thing"
