This time last year I was HEAVILY pregnant and elephant walking......Now I have a 'beautiful' SUN (President Mofe) who will be 1year in a month . I have too many things to be grateful for, especially the things I didn't even pray for by God did them anyway.

Alert! Alert!! Alert!!! GOD has smiled on me. I'm a mother to a healthy baby boy born at 37 weeks weighing exactly 3kg, yesterday 6th of September. My Shalom is the most peaceful baby ever just as his name implies. GOD has restored me and healed my badly broken heart after a loss at 42 weeks in 2014. My heart is soooo full of gratitude and happiness. I pray for all Atc mums,especially those who have lost a child that soonest,you will testify to GOD's goodness. @Favouredmom ND other mamas asking about Epidural,
Well,I was given epidural during my 1st baby. My doctor has bin asking me what I want for pain and I told him I don't want anything dat I will manage d pian. I want do African woman. People around me that just had dere babies were telling me to get epidural for my mind I said lailai.

On d day of delivery gangan, I was checked and the head of Nurses said am gonna stay to have the baby.

Was taking to d Observation room for them to set the delivery room.
I was moved to delivery room the nurse asked me if I want epidural, I said no she asked am I sure? I said yes.

The nurses kept coming to ask me the level of my pain I will say is 7/10. For my mind I was like is dis the labor pain ppl dey talk about... . Was checked 5cm... but my contractions were not active so I was given the drip for contraction. The lady asked again do I want the epidural now, I told her I will let her know if I want it.

Omo na so ooo one biggest contraction jam me come ND see screaming of life na soo all of dem rush enter I still refused d epidural. But d contractions kept coming like 3sec apart soo I can't help it is started crying. Na me myself push the call button for the nurse to come , she came in I told her I want the epidural now.... she smiled and said I know it's painful don't worry u will be relieved soon. They gave me the epidural but the pain was sooo oooooooo deep dat epidural too can't numb. I was told because I didn't take it at the early stage of the labour.

Me, I know when to push ooooo. As they were looking at d monitor when the contractions is up ,me too know for body. I was d one that told the lady I was feeling pressure in my Anus/Vijay.

I asked dem is dere epidural for pushing too that I want it. Come see laugh say na only for contractions. Cos, d pushing part too is painful.


So mamas, if u have d opportunity of opting for epidural pls take it early ooooo. For the back ache, I experienced it d next day of delivery I was given pain peel for that. And that's all.

My EDD from first scan at 11weeks gave me 11th August and Doc gave me 12th August. With each passing day, I looked forward to that date with excitement and fear tho. I was also actually wishing that baby comes before then. ....
From 36 weeks or so I started having lots of braxton hicks. In my mind, I was like my body has started preparing me on time for the real thing! 37 and 38 weeks it started to increase in frequency too. I was sooo happy I will get to meet my Lil one on time. I was so wrong....
Tiredness started setting in. Since the last scan I did at 28 weeks showed baby in breech position, I decided to take another scan to see if baby had positioned well. Yes , he had turned head down .

#39weeks came, nothing apart from increasing waist pain and tiredness.
Sleepless nights increased too. I was restless. How long more was I to drag this big long bump around and be gathering sympathy every where I go ?
I had started my evening walks...I usually came back exhausted but I tried to keep up because I had a target in mind. 40 weeks came and no results. Only swollen feet that made standing and walking a Herculean task...
Went to antenatal for that week, Doc said everything was in order and I should expect my baby any time soon. I went home disappointed kind of . I really wanted to hold my baby .

My body was not also helping issues. Given me signs non-stop. My Braxton hicks intensified. Cramps and stooling too. 41weeks came and nothing happened.
I virtually stormed my Gyn office asking for induction. He said he will start with his procedure. Wrote a pelvic exam and a membrane sweep.
I wrote my experience about that membrane sweep here! Choi ! Invasive procedure. ..that was the beginning of the 'choking hand business ' in my VJay. I was 2cmdilated, 50 percent effaced
2days after the sweep, I lost my mucous plug. I was happy baby will be here that week. A day later, I saw bloody show. All of that and still no Labour!

I then made up my mind for CS. I would be 42weeks in a few days time. Hell no way I would go past 42weeks with an additional day ! Not with all the birth announcements I was hearing everyday. ..

41weeks 5days later was a Tuesday, antenatal day. Went with DH. Bags packed into the car. Immediately it was my turn to see Doc, after exchanging greetings we told him we want our baby today! He laughed and said am too serious. I didn't bulged. I told him the theatre should be prepared. He smiled and said I should give VD a chance. I told him I did but Labour not coming and I don't want a failed induction either. He assured me to give induction a trial that it won't fail. I quickly accepted and wrote for misopristol insertion. He said I should go bring my bags , we said we were with it already. He laughed and then before handing my folder to me to take to delivery suite, he said 'let's strike a deal...no shouting or screaming when you get there'....see me nodding my head like agama lizard...

Immediately I got to delivery suit, was told to change to top and wrapper or bra and wrapper only. I changed immediately. Climbed on the delivery bed and the drugs inserted. This was around 3pm. I came out and was gisting with hubby from then till past 5. Nurses asked if I had eaten. I said no. They told me to eat. I said I wasn't hungry. They reminded me that I will need the strength from food later. I reluctantly told hubby to get me food. He bought rice. Mumsy brought eba. Was just picking on the food sef. Nurses told me to hurry on the food that once the pains start, I won't remember that food again. I didnt understand sha. I still managed to finish the rice and was still gisting with hubby. I grabbed eba And started eating. Around 6.30pm. It was as if someone landed a heavy slap on my pelvis and waist. I didn't realise when my voice gave me away

Week 32 has started today!

I am not fine at all. I am kind of depressed. At 20 weeks, I did bloodwork and for the first time ever, my PCV was 26. I was extremely shocked. I have always had a PCV of 35/36. How?

Then I did a follow up test on Friday and my PCV has dropped to 10.4. I eat Ugu raw, I take lettuce, I eat unripe plantain 2 times a week. I also take my iron supplements once in a while. What am I doing wrong? People are telling me that I would need a blood infusion soon. Not feeling anaemic nor dizzy.

Just read about your fall. Hope your feeling better. My EDD is 20th.

Is d menstrual pain continuous? If it's off and on, try timing it from d beginning of one to d beginning of d next one. See if there's a pattern or if it's regular. All the best dear.

pls wat can i do to make him sleep all through the night.

Don't give him snacks that he likes. If not, he will look forward to his midnight snack. Give him cereal that is not very sweet or unsweetened crackers with water.

Turning in bed these days is now bad with pain in my upper inner thighs. I feel it's just part of normal symptoms as d Preg I advancing.Got cerclage in too, so am praying everything keeps going on well till it is removed. Wishing all prego mamas out there a safe delivery and grace to carry baby to full term as we look forward to d edd.

You are almost at the finish line. I don't think there's cause for alarm but please report to ur gynae or doctor asap. When I was contracting I didn't feel the tightening too o. I twas much later about a few mins to delivery I felt my tommy hard. Easy peasy delivery to you.....
