You remember this post (thread)?: https://www.nairaland.com/3187339/invitation-freely-participate-veggies-demo. The demonstration plot has long being concluded but you know onions spend around 120 days/4 months to reach maturity after transplanting. Today 7th of September, 2016,Team leader of J.B Akin Owen who managed the project teamed up with the lead farmer at Oluyole, Ibadan, Oyo state to carry out the harvesting of onions. At this time of the year when the price of onions is on the rise, this is what is achievable even in South west Nigeria during wet season. Watch out for our article on Onion cultivation protocol and check more pics on flickr.com through our signature.

Southern Nigeria can become self sustaining in terms of agriculture.
To increase local supply of meat and reduce repeated Fulani attacks, farmers in Anambra are taking to ranching with support from the state govt and their cows look much healthier than the ones that have trekked from Sokoto to Enugu. grin

The Northerners have made us believe somethings cannot grow in the south. First from Moringa to beans etc but those things grow fully well here. It will interest you to note that southwest have their own cow called dwalf in ondo state that is free of tsetset fly, yet we still rely on the so call fulani's herds

Farming and teaching. these are noble profession we don't take serious here in Nigeria. I will change that when I become president.
