My Tecno Boom J8 charging point got spoilt fast forward i took it to Carl care the lady said the phone charge port is with the panel that it will cost 21,700 due to this. please i need contributions is this true?

Please i wonder why i must change a whole engine for 21,700 because charge point is attached to the phone panel.

This error from Tecno is the first i will ever see. Please keep your J8 charge port save i mean extra it will cost you 21,700 to fix because it attached to the panel according to Tecno Carl care service in Queen Elizabeth road Ibadan Nigeria.

I regret buying this Tecno Boom J8. Even IPhone port is not up to 21,700. what's the business of charge port to panel. Error. Planning to get phantom 6 plus but i can never try such after the charge port will cost 55,000 because once it damaged the whole phone system is damaged.

yours is small, i just went to flash my common techno m5 and dey told me engine will be changed and its for 11000 for a phone of 23000

Calm down bro. Take your phone to a phone repairer and they fix it for you with little amount, all expenses won't be more than 5k.


I haven't seen the port though so I can't tell if it's the normal USB type or Type-C. Even the type c isn't that expensive.

So take it to a repairer make he fix it for you. The only thing you will loose is the warranty, not like it is of any use.

21,700 is darn too much.

Can you show the receipt or any leaflet they gave you detailing exactly what got spoilt in the phone?

I have a feeling that there is more, or that Carlcare personnel wanted to chop money.

I have a feeling that there is more, or that Carlcare personnel wanted to chop money.


I took it to a repairer he collected 2000. What did he do opened the phone didn't unscrew the panel or the main system's. The charge port is far from the panel. He just bought a new port 300# fixed in thirty seconds Boom started charging. I just gave him 2k getting home people were telling me port no pass 500# especially with warranty. The Carl care wan scam my money i suppose nack their system for floor when they said 21,700.

Even the new IPhone 7 charge port can't reach 27,000 keep your J8 port well ibadan based or you pay 21,700. The lady will just look at her system then tell you its located with panel. Their rude look won't even let you ask for your warranty.

i took it to every phone repair market in 3citiea and nothing happened, the first ones i went to was the ones that totally ended the phone, they said it cut while repairing it and now nothing can be done about it

Lol. I remember when I was using Nokia Lumia 920 and the screen got shattered after the warrantee had expedited. Took it to Nokia care in Ikeja and the lady told me it would cost 27k to change the screen. I was like how much is the phone worth ? Took it to computer village and it was changed for 9k. Don't take ur phone to OEM care centre unless u are fixing it under warrantee, dem go cut ur neck. Normally a Samsung galaxy y s6 screen costs 45k at computer village, but if u take it to samsung they will charge u nothing less than 70k.

Exactly. Also they are very rude. They only know how to look at their system then name a price enough to buy a new phone as if you plug your money from the tree. The external repairer didn't open my phone the port is far from the panel.
