zeongeon:to my above bolded,we are concerned and concentrated about the present trend which signifies that masters/phds are 79% winning the case in our analysis except the people who has failed have not put up a commendable application or Canada is not meant for them or delay is driving to the destined time.when the statistic failure balances on every program levels (dip, pgc(d),masters, phd) i will now postulate again that our economic factor has fully come to play.meanwhile students from Nigeria are applying to Australia, Austria, UK, Germany, Spain, France, Luxembourg,Ireland and they are getting the visa. moreover i am not saying PGC(d)/dip is not an academic progression but my energy has been re-channelled to the VOs view on the chances applicable to the level of program you choose. |

Eraytee: It is not literally in the bible but it can be inferred from many instances, like when Jesus wanted to pay tax, he sent Peter to go and fish which he knows how to do very well and God did the rest by making the fish to contain money, he could have send the money down directly but did not. More over the scripture say blessed are those that hunger they shall be filled. you need to demonstrate that you hunger for it by putting your best to get it and God will help you. 3 Likes |

I have followed this forum from season 1 to this present season 11 and there is a question nobody bothered to ask or even provide the answer. This question is directed to all the Nigerians studying A Master or PhD in Canada and those yet to go over. I some people here posting they have full funding and scholarships to study in Canada 1. PLEASE WHAT ARE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE FOR NIGERIAN MASTER STUDENTS? I know PTDF, NITDA, IFP, BEA and COMMONWEALTH scholarships doesn't include Canada Universities, Please where can I see scholarship to apply to support my small savings? People like us get excellent 1st degree but no super rich family member |

michV: This may seem extraneous to what is being discussed right now but it is important to note that nowhere in life, whether in present day events or from historical records has there ever been a balance between the different groups or classes that strive towards, participate or dominate in a particular endeavor. That is is to say, with regard to TRV/study permit applications, there has never been and there will never be a time when the different groups of people applying (whether Ph.D, M.Sc or PGD) will get an evenly distributed set of outcomes, i.e approvals or rejections. For whatever reasons one group or set will get a majority of a particular type of outcome. I say all this because I think anybody waiting for the time when an evenly represented set of outcomes emerges or some equality statistic is achieved so as to justify any action is engaging in a futile exercise. This is all just food for thought. . . Best of luck in your application though. It is clear that the Canadian visa application process, especially with regard to Nigerians leaves a lot to be desired. |

michV:I agree with you but dont you think your conclusion of msc and phd winning is based on what you read on this forum and from my post you will notice when I said in time these waits and delays may cut across all level of academic study thats if it hasnt started to cause we are even talking based on what we read here on Nairaland. This is just how it starts. Canada wasnt like this before. Gradually they would make things more frustrating in the bid to discourage people...I am not saying they won't issue visas again or that people shouldnt apply but why keep peoples application for 16 -20 weeks, some people here school has resumed and not a word of instruction from cic what is the motive behind that. You called Austria, UK, Germany etc but have you come to think of it that the chances you have of staying back in such countries and even getting PR isn't as "easy" like that of Canada. Tell me that if today Canada decides to go the path of UK in that as soon as your done with your studies go back to your country tell me if they won't be issuing out visas to people cause they know there won't be an opportunity to stay back not to talk of work or get PR. 4 Likes |

Good afternoon room, I just found this forum and took time to read from part 1 to 11, but I would still like to ask a few questions: I've gone through sites of schools in Canada and have narrowed my search to 3 school. They are: 1. University of Manitoba 2. University of Victoria 3. MUN I graduated with a 2:1 (4.00 CGPA) this year and last two years averaged 3.9. I would like to ask if any of the listed universities above could accept my application for MSc. Actuarial and Financial Mathematics. I also would not mind list of universities that the forum members have gotten admission with a CGPA like mine and where admission is on a rolling basis instead of at once after deadline. I'm open to a suggestion of other schools because I've not submitted any application yet. |

zeongeon:i fully understand you, analysis are based on what we read/see here which is never a conclusion but the % outcome could be possibly applicable out here/there. ''what happens in ur family is usually applicable/obtainable in other families''.I have friends/colleagues who applied to canada either got refused/approved and they are not on this forum.so my source of information is extensive i think say na study all of us wan study,so to stay back with PR routes dey hungry una.who wan develop naija again with modern days ideas? |

Please I need help. I have posted this on another Nairaland forum, but I have not got a answers. I am now in Canada as a student, but I want my wife and son to join me. The following are my concern: 1. How can I prove that we have enough fund for their (my wife and son) upkeep for at least one year as stipulated by CIC. Do I have to own the money in my account in Canada or Nigeria? What if someone sends the money to my wife's account and the person backs it up with a letter that he deliberately provided the money to facilitate her travel to join her husband? Will they still request for statement of account? 2. She is self employed and her business is not registered. Her parents are in Nigeria and they own a small company but I doubt it if the company's account is well funded. Now, my question is; how can she prove that she has home ties? 3. I understand my wife can apply for SOWP, and my son can apply for visitor's visa. Is there a category of visitor's visa that can allow him to stay in Canada for more than six months? I have read instructions on CIC website, it appears these questions are not answered with the information provided on the websites. 1 Like |
