A brief one on one on egg distribution would have get you started better.

However, you will learn how to carry crates now. Just get three or four different sizes of crate from your preferred farm and let your intending clients have a fair view of what you have.
Secondly, have a good look at what each client sells - thats the sizes he/she displayed before making your own offer. You may not have a uniform size and offer rate, just see what they have and configure what you are offering to be at par or above whats on their shelf.

Offer rates now are volatile. I nearly ran out control this evening when a lady was bargaining with me. I do not know how some distributors source their eggs resulting in slash of offer rates.

ABIODUN2016:
During the course of doing my marketing of the egg supplying to new customers, majority of the people i approach said they would like to see the goods they want to buy. How do i go about this? Is it advisable i proceed to the farm to purchase? Then proceed to meet them afterwards. Oga Blackkie please enlighten me. Thanks

Abeg, who will teach me Yoruba language?
I am losing some juicy sales due to this language barrier.

Today, a farm manager whom i have been doing all my packaging to meet bumped into me this afternoon. He was glad to meet me and instantly he went off blasting this language and finally asked me to follow up on what he said only for me to tell him that i did not understand what he said. He looked at me and walked away.

Infact, i dont know when to see him again!

Lol this got me cracked up.

I must commend you for your unrelenting efforts in ensuring that people understand this biz.

Infact you are a rare gem.

There are good business opportunity for many people but many people just want the easy way out which is getting a job.

Thanks once again.

Its a year and counting that I started this thread.
I have made money and aided a lot of new comers in the business of egg distribution.

I cannot count the number of profitable contacts that I got via this medium. I was having fun and making money.
Now I am moving to owning an egg depot and with time the logistics will be sorted.

Last week I was discussing the idea of an egg depot with a close distributor friend. She asked me - what is the difference between being a distributor and owning a depot?

To own a depot, you must have located a farm that will maintain a steady supply of eggs. Also, the income margin while running an egg depot is small per crate. Most time it is as small as N20, however the volume sold weekly is where the whole thing revolves. So to run a depot, you must target at least 500 crates weekly. And as a starter, you may combine direct supply and running of the depot to make both ends meet.

September is here and soonest school will begin, it time to make bumper money again. Strategize now.

I believe you are doing your home work while waiting for schools to reopen.
Scarcity is a MUST, make hey while the sun shines.

For many who are experienced in the act of distribution, its time you start looking at a mega deal - An egg shop.
Think of doing it all there - distribution, selling to other distributors and even retailing. You can take over the street or your area. In business it is the survival of the fittest.
The farm owners are becoming more creative and active, you now have an intimidating challenger. Keep these farm owners at bay with a better tactics.

I got a qoute from Ilorin and nearly ran mad.
If what I heard was true and you have the logistics to get the ball rolling, Ibadan farmers will lose some Lagos market share.

Do you know that eggs are exported?
As it is everywhere in Nigeria, many African countries are looking for it!

Besides, eggs are not only for mere consumption as we know, it is a raw material.
This information is coded for now.

When we are playing it local here, some big boy and ladies on pounding the international scene offering nations eggs and receiving hard currency - even at these wonderful Buhari leadership.
This week, we have brainstormed grossly about egg preservation via drying and turning the eggs into powdered form that is handy to use. I am thrilled for the fact that you may never need some sophisticated machines to do it. At least families can store few bowls of ready to use powdered egg whenever there is a glut in the system.

TRY TO READ THIS, IT MIGHT HELP YOU.

Olafarms is starting a partnership with food vendors/ food canteens people that sell indomie and eggs and any one into egg buisness or interested personnel.
The partnership ia all about quail eggs which some might be familiar with. Like we all knw the price of eggs have inflated and a chicken egg now goes for around 50-60 naira depending on size that's why olafarms came up with the idea of starting this partnership.
1.)It will help the masses that cannot afford to buy the big eggs by quail eggs which will go for as less as 20-30naira depending on size location and demand.
2.) It will also help anyone partnering with ola farms have other source of income withot starting with a penny.
3.) It will also creat jobs for people without having to start with a penny.
Olafarms will be giving out a crate of quail egg @500 naira per crate for intending partners withot collecting a dine until the eggs are sold. The eggs should be sold within the price range of 20-30naira depending on location, demand or sizes.
So there fore if you are able to sell for 20naira per quail egg your gain is 100naira, if u sell for 25naira your gain is 250naira and if you are able to sell for 30naira your gain is 400naira.
So its after you have sld we collect the 500 naira.
Another advantage is that for every crate sold you get 50naira rebate at the end of the month. So if u sell 10 crates u get 500naira at the end of the month if u sell 50 crates u get 2500naira at the end of the month. Bt if u are able to sell 100crates u get 5000naira plus extra 5000naira at the end of the month so do the math yourself and see how much you get to make yourself withot starting with a penny.
So its up to you to grab this oppourtunity and start your buisness rightaway.
Limited spaces are available for now so its first come first serve .

How was it this weekend?
Our item of trade has dried up in my area.
The funny thing was that I called 3 farms that has been having over 500 crates unsold daily for about 4 weeks now and none of them had one crate available. If this is a sign, you better watch it closely.

Sizes of eggs that I use to sell for N740 was grabbed at N800 with -thank you and God bless you. Hold fast any farm you are dealing with, the scarcity is for real.
Why?
The suppliers to Federal government on school children feeding are mopping up the item against school resumption. Secondly, its time that households must buy eggs for their ''quick'' meals.

Re: My Experience In Egg Distribution Investment. by Blackkie: 3:53am On Sep 15, 2016
Sales in my zone is at a northward swing now.
The description of a crate of egg as ''medium'' is subjective. Why, I get my supplies from three farms and their so called medium varies. In one of the farms what they call medium is extra-large in many farms. So it depends.
For retailers, medium goes for N770-N850; for the wholesaler, look at N750
