@AlphaHandmaiden, thanks for your response. Yes I need to let somethings such as this slide but it hurts. I have to do a review of my activities.

In church, I belong to a unit where I have to stand for most part of the service. So LO still end up being with my help as I can't carry her while on duty. A couple of times that I sit with her, my HOD begs that I hand her to my help as we are very few in my unit. I'll have to look for a way to handle this.

Hmm... may God help me.

Hello mama, I really support what alpha handmaiden and onegai advice. For the church activity, exempt yourself for now and also let the Househelp do all the running around during weekend. Also try and create a special activity that you do with your child when you get back home everyday so she always look forward to it e.g the bible stories reading already suggested.

I agree with AlphahandMaiden. Try and cut back on your activities and don't be too hard on yourself babies attach themselves to whomever they please its not that they prefer your help to you it's just familiarity.

@ngsoundz that sounds familiar take her to the hospital for proper assessment and prescription.

Wash her clothings with disinfectant, trim her nails so she doesn't cut her skin during the scratching. Try not to burst the boils cause if you do it spreads faster.

Try and keep her cool heat aggravates it.

Please try and post a picture of any skin condition you seek solution or advice to! so we can do better in our analysis thanks.

@Kidco alright will indicate when I'm ready.

Good job onegai and co for keeping this place lively.

Hello mothers in the house, I will appreciate your advice on this issue. I also want to believe that I may not be the only one experiencing it, so mothers who have been there, how did you handle it.

I am a working mum and on the average I leave home 7am to come back 7pm. Hence, I have a stay-in help who I leave my baby with while I work. LO is now 9months.
On weekends, I have more time with LO and my older daughter but I also have other things to attend to - market, cooking, sometimes salon, outings etc. My Sunday self is busy with church activities. I also juggle work, family with studies.

Most times, when I get back from work I feel bad and guilty for my kids for leaving them in the care of someone else. But I have no option for now than to work, for the family's survival.

You can imagine how bad I felt when I overheard my help telling some people in church that my LO is very attached to her than to anyone else including me. My help is about 26years.
Should I be worried that she is getting attached to someone else other than her parent?
I ll be worried if I were u. As I gv my opinion. I m also talking to myself. Re prioritize, let family come first for u after God. Ur help is big as in old enuf to b a mother, who knows what she tells ur LO in ur absence, she s probably being his mother in ur absence. Whenenevr u re home, carry him. Let there b some special moments btwn u two. play wt him. mk out tym during d weekend too to b wt him. u may need to cut down on church activity if it doesn't permit u to attend wt ur child. May God help us all to b better mums. May no one take our place in raising our kids for us in Jesus' name Amen!

Kidco jus delivered.hehehehe
It so happens that the books are all different. No 2 books with same title.
Then some are for older kids like 3,4,5
Some are for younger kids
Some are jus drawings and few words.

My issue is how do we share it witout either party feeling Cheated.

Do we all meet and do ballot system.u pick n i pick.till it is all shared.

Or will u guys trust me to just share accordingly. I will be using same random selection method.

Please lets decide here.

Lucky dip!

Put the books in a pillowcase and everyone close eye and pick one in turns till e finish.

If 2 people want to exchange afterwards fine...

It just means you all have to be present

I'll like to join okota axis as I stay in ejigbo. how much are we contributing.

Chaulay1 pls take it easy on yourself. that's what your help thinks but you still remain the mother and that tide can't be broken. Besides, your kids are still young and you have to work.
Go out with your them during weekends and play games at home. Then you have to caution your maid and set it straight. No one is indispensable.
When is your leave? Plan it with your kids and let the maid stay at home.
Concerning church activities, limit it till your baby is 1year

Good evening mamas.

So I think am down with "Apollo" don't know how but my eye is painfully itchy, watery, swollen and red.

Question is, how do I prevent lo from being infected, she's 6months and I don't have help. It's just two of us once hubby leaves in the morning.

Thank you for your responses.

Cc nurse kaffy4bill. I had Apollo once or twice in my life so I have no idea.

I appreciate you all for your responses.
@onegai, many thanks but I can't register her in a nearby crèche with help on stand by cos I will need her at home for when my older daughter closes from school.

@sayoddy, I just let her comment slide without reacting because I thought responding is not worth it and might make her feel more indispensable. I don't know if you understand though.

As it were self I only go to church on Sundays. But I will now make sure I use the hours in church to bond with her.

As regards the book sharing formula, I think mothers picking one by one with the books seen by all may be better (open ballot) rather than lucky dip. This gives almost equal chances to all. For instance, in the first round Mother A, B, C and D pick in that order then the next pick will be mother D, C, B and A in that order. This is for situation when all mothers are available.

Yes, picking one after the order is good but what about mamas that doesn't want a particular age, like me I want just 0-2. What will happen if I pick age 5.

Mamas that use shea butter/coconut oil/olive oil and the likes as cream for their LOs.. how do you achieve that nice smell a baby should have? Cos I don't think shea butter et al can give that 'babylike' smell...

Do you add anything to your shea butter to make it smell nice?

Thanks smiley

I add Lander oil to it, its a foreign oil. I use baby pears oil for his head/hair, so he always smell nice. Most important thing is for baby to be neat, no body odour.

Yes, i was actually waiting to see if we could make up to 4 or 5 mamas at least to reduce the cost but i don't know if we've made up to that number yet. Also, i want to know if kidco has responded to you on the singing books, i was thinking it would be better to have the singing books if the price is reasonable before i decide. Thanks

I also belong to d ushering dept but once I resume after dedication I hold my baby myself I don't av any house help so I carry my. cross and we are also not many in d unit in fact we were jst 2 at a time but once in a while some church members will hold him for few minutes, hubby is a sitting minister so he can't help during service.

my advice is hold your baby at every opportunity church inclusive, they can see that u are a mum.even now that my kids are toddlers,my 2 year old na super glue,he still comes to me during service and I will jejely sit and hold my thing.one woman was fond of eyeing me and saying 'ur mates already av younger ones'.I no send o.

even on weekends pls find every opportunity to be wt them, cut down on those unnecessary activities,u can call someone to make ur hair at home, let the house help go to the market while u stay wt them. one main reason why I opted for teaching is this cos hubby is 6:30am-9:30pm and someone has to be home BT if u CNT just try and make up time for them.

imagine my 4 year old asking when d dad will be back from his journey one day all because he will still be in bed while d dad is going and wld av slept before he is back but on weekends except if d occasion is extremely important he won't move an inch and d kids will follow him everywhere as if I don't even exist.God will help u

Comtem2011, I think tetmosol is antibacterial but with a different active ingredient. Just because I wouldn't want baby getting immune to that antibiotic I probably wouldn't use it

Eolowu1, if your baby is ebf right now there is no need for water. If you are doing combination feeding (BM and formula), maybe a little bit of water if you notice hard stool. I have no idea about Ilorin prices but why not try regular Dove soap classic and keep it out of his eyes?

XX01 contact the other moms in your group and decide who will collect payment and collect books for sharing.

Dunnybaby, we use Boots but Lord knows I don't trust it. We can actually whip up some lotion o. Or try Eucerin (though it's pricey everyone can use it). I'll ask the derma-doctor and see what he says.

thanks ma,I always enjoy reading your posts,is it boots baby(d pink bottle)? d seller also told me abt it,ho do they react to it?thanks again

It's essential or perfume oil that gives fragrances but you should be careful with both. I don't like the smell of Lavender though (I must be the only one). But you can try very few drops. Add some shea butter in a double boiler (look it up, it's easy to do), melt it, then let it cool down, Add some olive/coconut oil and a few drops of Lavender essential oil. You can beat it with a whisk to make a fluffy body butter or just leave y to solidify, put it in the fridge.

A baby is a baby and therefore will always smell like a baby. Personally I love the smell of coconut oil on my lo. Makes him smell so adorable, I want to eat him!

The perfumes making products smell nice are part of the reasons babies react.

Lander oil purposely made for babies, its very light on the palm and bkdy. U can get it at super market. it has baby like smell.

Pear baby oil is good, u can mix it with ur Shea butter.
