Hi Guys posted this but only got one response. Please I need more opinions im running out of time. To add my undergrad is a 3rd but I did well in my masters which is why I felt I had to add it. Please let me know what you think.... Hello all I am new to nairaland i was adviced to come here for advice and info. Basically i have been offered a place in a school in ontario to study Information systems business analysis graduate certificate for Jan 2017. My issue is that what iv studied previously is not related, also i have a masters. My undergrad is chemical engineering and a masters in engineering project management, both done in the UK. My claim to change my field is that i found what i had studied was an already oversaturated market in nigeria and i had lost interest in pursuing a career in that field. I am also claiming that i was lucky to get employment in a business analyst role and even though i started as an intern, i found that i took to the field really well and have progressed to an entry level permanent position so I really want to grow and develop myself in that field and have an international perspective of the field. Please I need to know if this reason is good enough as a reason to be switching field and doing a pgc when i have a masters in something else. I am also thinking of saying my project mgt masters can still come in handy in terms of planning, time mgt, leadership and co. Please I need your advice and suggestions. thank you. happy to be part of the family. |

Hello everyone, I'm new here... graduated with a 3.55. I would like to have my masters degree in International Relations, Mcmaster University. Don't know if anyone is familiar with this school. Their minimum requirement is a B+ in a 4 years first degree. Please can anyone explain how I can calculate my GP in relations to the B+. thanks |

jayjayjay007:hmmm i was laying emphasis on @yemdogg airtight application as he stated. Meanwhile with your articulated statements,i am sorry don't write such on ur SOP cos ur purpose of visit would be questioned. Even with the change of career i have detected is another thing to be questioned which hardly fly.meanwhile @Churkie GCMS note he might have got from an online source,i would suggest if you are a 3rd class student, since adding academic transcripts is not compulsory though necessary in trv application, just keep it away from ur application cos it gives room for the VO to see more reasons to refuse you. That above Gcms note seems to me like a 3rd class degree holder if i am right. NO 1 should antagonise me,i may be wrong |

xyoung:don't take it serious.atimes i jump and pass some questions i would have answered if i was on my PC which seem okay to me when responding to comments here.but when on phone i just read and pass. To that your question,i saw it but i have no idea of such which some might not too, to have left it unanswered till someone who might v gone via the process would come here and feel willing to answer you.mind you no1 is obliged to answer any question but it is out of our kind hearts.we don't get paid to answer questions here |

jayjayjay007:Young Lady, forget the grades you had look forward to the life you have ahead. Your B.Eng has to be added because they have to see all that you been through as per studies. And about switching line why not since this isn't your 1st Msc and you studied in the UK and never ran away. All the same, do things fast and appropriately and Trust God. |

Hello everyone and thanks for the good work going on here. Please, i have been following this thread for a while now but i have a couple of questions to ask. We presently planning for my wife to do her PGD in Canada, particularly Manitoba cuz that is where we've got relatives who are ready to host her during her studies dere. So, because of the choice of manitoba, it seems our options are limited to Red River College and MITT...please is Manitoba Institute of Trade and Tech a redflag school for international students or not? Has anyone gotten TRV with admission from the school or is dere anyone who has schooled or presently schooling there whom i can relate with? Also, can she apply for TRV with our kids after getting the admission? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by jayjayjay007: 2:15pm On Sep 09, 2016 |
lol I hope the VO can forget the grades too. I am just worried of getting rejected because of changing field as they might think it is dodgy. Also the fact im going for PGC when i have a masters. Btw im a young lady Phunmmiee: |

Phunmmiee:@phunmmiee the suggestion you have given to this young man is not satisfying for a successful outcome.mind you a career switch is involved from chemical engineering to information system business analysis. the employment he is about to claim is not a satisfiable work experience (internship) enough for such career switching.it is better we tell the individual the truth and the limited chances involved than encouraging the individual without providing remedy to the situation at hand and saying he should hope on God. can we just keep God first and aim at doing the right thing first and asking for his direction towards the right thing.which one be do things fast without remedying the situation |

xyoung: It depends on the program you are going for and the school. You have to look for schools that have funding for the program you want to go for, it is usually stated on the department website |

bayocanny: Baba you sef dey watch the action movie. Egbon thesoj been make one salient point: shey people wey get refusals no pray reach abi dey no deserve grace lol... but Nigerians will be Nigerians. This thread is out to encourage people to submit the best possible application (and not to deceive anyone with any religious bias to prepare shoddy app). I believe the religious section will emphasis the efficacy of prayers. |
