AdomMum:
Good evening NL family!

Help me thank God ooo....my LO arrived exactly 2weeks ago at 37wks 5days but sorry i've been busy learning how to help her latch and stop her from crying plenty due to hunger...and as a FTM, it has been alot of hardwork...lool!

Had mad cramps all thru that night i could barely sleep but i thought it was BH contractions/false labour since i was just 37wks gone.

By morning the contractions were gone and i was all agile as if nothing happened. Thank God i had docs appt that day so went to see the doctor, a midwife at the office checked me and said i was already 7cm dilated. Omo na so they said i have to be admitted to the hospital oo.

Labour was for 20minutes. Vaginal birth; no epidural. Oluwa was totally involved!! I listened to Dansaki re by Lola

To God alone be all the glory, honour and praise!!!!!!

Ahh Baba God hear this one o! I want this labor o. Sharp sharp.
A big congrats dear

I've been a silent follower of this thread for some months now. Stumbled on it one morning while I was searching for info on giving birth in the US. So in the spirit of giving back smiley I got into Houston yesterday after spending about 25 hours ( emirate abj dubai houston is not beans prepare your minds mama's to be). Inflight entertainment and food was on point. After spending 2 hours on the immigration line I got to the cbp officer
Me: Good evening Sir(with a big smile)
Cbp: Hi, what's your purpose of visiting the US
Me: Vacation and child birth
The guy looked down and was like Wow you are having a baby
Me: yes
Cbp: who will be paying your bills
Me: me sir
Cbp: how much do you have oh you
Me: 4000 and some change( by some miracle I was able to get pta from travelex abj b4 leaving) and money on my cards
Cbp: types some things into his system takes my finger print, scans my passport and stamps me in for 6 months then tells me enjoy ur stay in houston.
I was so surprised! Can't thank God enough. God really answers prayer he didn't even ask for change of intent letter cos I got my Visa Oct last year b4 I got pregnant or Doctors correspondence nd receipts . No secondary inspection!. So now i'm just chilling for my appointment with Dr Dama. And enjoying my time here

My sis may God make a way for you, my son had lumps rite from birth, it was later I was told it's lymph nodes, FIL said dh had it wen he was small, my baby's cousin had it also. It only enlages when there is a bacterial in his system or when he's about to fall ill, maybe that's the reason 4 ur son's own enlargement. My son has 1 behind his ear, like 2 on the back of his head. It's moves a bit when you touch it. Just be positive it's well with him IJN. Ps. My son just clocked two few days ago.

Hello House,

I appreciate the wealth of information i got from this platform and its time to share my DW testimony and what God has done in my family. DW and I applied for b1/b2 visa in early August but was refused. I then scheduled an emergency visa interview option for DW in last week in August ( only DW is qualify to apply under emergency option ). Visa was issued to DW.

Fast forward, booked KLM from LOS>IAH for DW @ 32weeks and she arrived as Houston POE this week, fit to fly was not asked throughout the flight. CBP sent her for secondary inspection,DW was asked to about fund the remaining medical payments that might come up (after making down payment for OB and WHMC )and she mentioned the over $5K with her coupled with my credit card. CBP told DW my past student visa applications over 10 years ago and DW asked why i refused student visa then and the last time we applied together in early August but no response from CBP. DW was cleared and advise not to accept any medic aid, pay all bills and collect her zero balance. Stamped her in for 6months and wish her safe delivery.

Will apply in October personally so as to witness the birth of our LO and bring DW and LO back home.

Graciously waiting for the arrival our LO and trust the LORD to perfect DW delivery.

Please can someone advise if ETC is still valid to Naija if yes please share Tanko or Eddy contact info.

Thanks

Hello all,
I just remembered an app I used instead of uber. It is called lyft,it gives u 5 or 10 free ride up to $10 each before it starts charging you unlike uber. It's also very easy to download and the drivers are fast to meet up with u.
As for sim, the best (maybe to me) is lycramobile for $29 per month and u can easily recharge online unlimited text&300 min to call Nigeria plus plenty megabytea to watch movies.
N.B Am not marketing oooo, just a way of reducing cost with the way dollars and naira are not smiling in these so called recession. 3 month here have learnt how to just manage myself.

A piece of advise, most banks have now stopped ATM cash withdrawal abroad. The implication is that you may be stranded if you hope to withdraw USD cash from your Naira account.

Make adequate plans to have your funds in USD and not Naira,

Thank you Justwise. I just wanted to make sure my refusal was the right thing. A Dr offered to get someone who works with a charity organization involved in our case. I'm not even sure if it's right to accept this. I told her I'd think about it....

Resist their pressure to take one, they are doing that so as to get their money quickly not because they careless about the consequences.

I think that some hospitals are deliberately charging foreign patients ridiculously high fees then put pressure on them to take Medicare.

Part of the reason for dollar scarcity

"Yesterday someone I know was at the airport. She was to buy PTA of $4,000 at interbank rate (356).

The process was meant to be straight forward and smooth. You get to Travelex desk, show them your boarding pass, passport and BVN. Tell them the total amount you want purchase. Maximum possible is $4,000.

But what did these Nigerians do, they frustrate every step. Make sure you get nothing except you are not buying up to the maximum amount.

While on the queue, they will approach you, ask you how much you want. Let's say you want $1,500. They will call you aside and tell you to fill $4,000 in your form. Once you agree, they skip the process for you while others are waiting. The extra $2,500 is collected in your name, then round tripped in the black market. This is killing our currency.

They truncate the system. Buy the dollar at 356, go to the market and sell same at 410. Normal people are not allowed to get USD because those people working at Travelex deliberately frustrate the system.

These are not politicians, they are ordinary Nigerians. Greedy" ~ Abiodun Atobatele

Exactly! The #ChangeBeginsWithMe Campaign is about our core values. The National Orientation Agency isn't saying anything else beyond this.

Ifemi2016.
Hi to everyone, Good to be part of this great platform. Double thumbs up to whoever came up with this idea as I gained a lot & helped me to prepared for my POE interview. This should be a forum to share ideas and make everyone a better person by stretching helping hands to one another.
I have been a silent reader on this platform since I applied and got my Visa in early April 2016.I was introduced to the platform by my younger brother in may.
I have been trying to register since I arrived Chicago but don't know how to go about it but finally I did.A grateful heart, thank you all.
I wish i could share my whole story but don't want to bored you guys.
I actually got my Visa for Vacation but since I was convinced by people that I could use it for childbirth then I concurred. I have been married for almost 10 years looking for the fruit of the womb.finally I discovered I was pregnant in early March.PLS NOTE THAT MY INITIAL PLAN WAS TO GO FOR VACATION
I sent a mail to the embassy for change of intent.contacted an hospital and a doctor in Chicago which was used by a colleague of mine in the office.
I already booked my ticket in may to Chicago but based on the changed of plan and info received here abt Chicago POE, I had to pay for change of route to New York through Emirate.
I read from part 1 of 0 to this present page 4 which turn to be my daily bible.
POE Transcript,
I arrived New your on 24th August, the crowd was something else.went for the biodata automated machine then straight to the
CBP, he greeted and asked for my passport.
CBP: why are you here, me for childbirth
CBP:how many weeks do you intend spending,me 10 weeks.
CBP: stamped me in till February 2017 and said have a great stay.I left and went back to him and asked him that he could not even asked for the mail I sent to the embassy,my hospital and doctor's correspondence.then he told me to go that he has seen me and know that I am here to give birth,he said what was the response I got wen I sent the mail, immediately I brought out the envelope and he read to me that their it's not illegal to give birth in US as much as I have my money,I now told him that I have $9600 cash and $5400 in my dollar card.then he said don't worry just go.
I was worried although I have been praying and listen to the holy book throughout the journey and commit whoever the cbp Will be to the hands of God and also prepared.
off to Agriculture,my bag was not checked only the filled declaration paper was collected.
I then booked the available flight to Chicago via delta airline but the journey was long. All in all I give glory to the almighty God and all the contributors on naira land where I gain the knowledge from.God bless you all.My Edd is early next month by his grace.PLS NOTE that I have also traveled to Indian and Dubai on same passport which was part of the questions asked by the VO in Nigeria.Sorry for the long post.

How long must you carry this burden
On your mind
The lord is with you
All the time

Chorus

Always uh always

Congrats to all new mamas! Just checking in. Please I have a question: since my son is a citizen, is he entitled to any aid like Medicaid or CHIP? The bills are running HIGH. Just MRI is $5k and this does not include the anesthesia he was given for the procedure or radiologist bill. And that's just 1 of the many tests and procedures he's been through. I'm talking setting up payment plan and the hospital staff are advising I get him a Medicaid no. Using his social security, because they forsee bills running really high...
Abeg everyone help me before I make a wrong decision. I'm so distressed right now.
