manny4life:Good luck with your paper! Is it for school purposes? My elder bro said it's generally more prudent for an airline to lease aircraft than to buy cos you'd have more red-tape wahala if you outrightly own an aircraft. |

manny4life: Unless you are Emirates, Qatar or Etihad, most airlines are better off leasing aircraft. Google Gecas and thank me later. 1 Like |

CFCman: Bros, the truth is Nigeria should send people to Ethiopia to go and under study Ethiopian airlines for one year then return to replicate same in Nigeria else we would be pouring water in a basket. I mentioned this to uncle Jona once and he just tapped my shoulder and smiled. 3 Likes |

Boeing777pilot:Wow. I used to think the same way. Our people can study how Ethiopian is more profitable than all the other African airlines combined. One thing Nigeria can do with, though, is the setting up of another MRO, say, in Lagos (there is one in Akwa Ibom). The airlines would save big if they are able to do their aircraft maintenance in Nigeria. |

CFCman: I wouldn't say paper per say, but it's a phase of a lengthy project. Financially prudent in the short term, YES, but in the long run... It isn't. That's why I said given the scenarios. There are many factors to consider, I mean, we're purchasing the airplanes "cash only". I still remember your bro btw, you know he and I went to ERAU together. |
Re: Azman Air Commences Flight Operations From Kebbi To Other States(pics) by manny4life(m): 10:28pm On Sep 09, 2016 |
Boeing777pilot: GE still remains one of the largest leasing corporations in the world. They buy in bulk and that further proves my point. This is why I said "scenarios". It would be a bad advice to for any entrant to purchase airplanes out rightly. When I mean scenarios, you should have asked first what I meant. |

CFCman: I strongly advise against this model simply because we have an attitude of waste and incompetence, more importantly, we don't have a sound aviation background for the govt to take on such huge expense. It's certainly not worth it. |

Re: Azman Air Commences Flight Operations From Kebbi To Other States(pics) by manny4life(m): 10:36pm On Sep 09, 2016 |
CFCman: Even if it's 0%, I'm still against it. As much as aviation remains a protected market, and I mean an industry with govt interest, I still believe that govt involvement should be limited which includes giving subsidized loans. |

Dirkcoyt:1.Only Labana rice?Do you know Kebbi,Yauri precisely,is one of the major suppliers of dried fish in Nigeria?I even heard they'll be investing massively in exportation. 2.Sokoto,Kano,Kaduna?How can you even compare Kebbi to these states, for Godsake? These states are not only older but have progressed economically,a long time before Kebbi even came to be.If you must compare, you should be comparing it with Jigawa state etc. 3.Now,I don't know what your definition of 'urban' is,but as far as I'm concerned...It looks just like most states in Nigeria.Maybe, you haven't really travelled to many states apart from the likes of Sokoto,Kano,Lagos,Abia and some other developed ones, that's why you think so. 4.I think the state is already trying hard for the agricultural sector...we can't put all our eggs in one basket and focus only on agriculture! 5.Poor transportation system , just like the other Nigerian states. Truth is no matter how much you condemn Kebbi, it still has something to show & even other states like Lagos didn't become what they are at one go,neither did they focus only on one economic sector. Moreover,a commercial airport is something most states need I guess, but only a few have. I hope your own state is very developed. |
