Hello everyone. While work was going on in the headlights of my Honda Civic LX 2002, it rolled back slightly and shortly afterwards refused to get out of Park(P) and also refused to start even though all the lights on the instrument cluster came on. Don't know if it's as a result of rolling back. I used the shift lock button beside the gear shift to get it out of P and into N before I could start the car. But as soon as I put it back in P, it got stuck again and has acted that way since. The P indicator light doesn't come on when I put it in Park. I also noticed that the D light blinks while I'm driving. The transmission seems to shift smoothly though I can't be too sure because I'm used to manual transmission and only just started driving an automatic transmission. I'm in Abuja and would like to be directed to a Honda/automatic transmission specialist. Your advice and contributions are pleased expected and will be appreciated. Thanks |

They will tell u to change one sensor on the gearbox but most times it does not last. Gear box is about 100k |

academicjosh: there's nothing wrong with your transmission, you have a poorly aligned park neutral switch. Call mike in abuja for a quick fix.
