North Korea Nuclear Test: South Would Reduce Pyongyang 'to Ashes' by onedayatime(m): 12:48pm On Sep 11, 2016 |
South Korea has a plan to annihilate the North Korean capital if it shows any signs of mounting a nuclear attack, according to reports from Seoul. A military source told the Yonhap news agency every part of Pyongyang "will be completely destroyed by ballistic missiles and high-explosives shells". Yonhap has close ties to South Korea's government and is publicly funded. On Friday North Korea carried out what it said was its fifth, and largest, nuclear test. The international community is considering its response. The US says it is considering its own sanctions, in addition to any imposed by the UN Security Council, Japan and South Korea. Pyongyang responded on Sunday by calling the threats of "meaningless sanctions... highly laughable". The South Korean military official told Yonhap that Pyongyang districts thought to be hiding the North's leadership would be particularly targeted in any attack. The city, the source said, "will be reduced to ashes and removed from the map". The BBC's Korea correspondent Steve Evans says the South is using the same bloodcurdling rhetoric that the North frequently uses about the South Korean government in Seoul. He says there has been rising criticism within South Korea of the government as its attempts to isolate the North have failed to deter leader Kim Jong-un's nuclear ambitions. News of South Korea's attack plan for the North is believed to have been revealed to parliament following Friday's nuclear test. Meanwhile, the US's special envoy for North Korea says Washington is considering taking unilateral action against Pyongyang. "North Korea continues to present a growing threat to the region, to our allies, to ourselves, and we will do everything possible to defend against that growing threat," Sung Kim said. "In addition to sanctions in the Security Council, both the US and Japan, together with [South Korea], will be looking at any unilateral measures as well as bilateral measures as well as possible trilateral cooperation." North Korea is banned by the UN from any tests of nuclear or missile technology and has been hit by five sets of UN sanctions since its first test in 2006. The North said Friday's test had been of a "nuclear warhead that has been standardised to be able to be mounted on strategic ballistic rockets". Estimates of the explosive yield of the latest blast have varied. South Korea's military said it was about 10 kilotonnes, enough to make it the North's "strongest nuclear test ever". Other experts say initial indications suggest 20 kilotonnes or more. The nuclear bomb dropped by the US on Hiroshima in 1945 had a yield of about 15 kilotonnes. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-37331852 |

12Monkeys:A full recession? lol The US economy is currently the strongest it has ever been in years thanks to Obama. The US no longer imports oil which has been a major drain on American resources, and americans are the better for it. There is no reason for the US to create a war. They are already in charge and have nothing more to gain. It is the likes of north korea that has nothing to lose that wants to create war. 1 Like |

onedayatime:There is nothing to test here. American power and her willingness to protect her allies has been demonstrated time and time again. North korea would be flattened forever by American forces in conjuction with south korea and japan if kim jong un is foolish enough to attempt an escalation. 1 Like |

CSTR2:Another impending trouble for the dollar is the current weakening of US-Saudi relations which has seen the Saudis in the coming weeks approaching Russia in stabilising oil prices and supplying weapons for the war in Yemen. The Saudis are even threatening to pull out their $800bn investment in the US over concerns of a new piece of legislation recently passed by the US Congress allowing survivors of the victims of 9-11 attacks to sue the Saudi govt and officials involved. Obama is likely to veto it but this will spell doom for the Democrats in the upcoming election. The US Congress has also blocked arm sales totalling $115bn to the Saudis in their sectarian war in Yemen citing gross insensitivity to civilian casualties. This is another reason the Saudis are seeking Russian assistance. On the plus side, the Saudis have pledged not to fund ISIS anymore and this is what led to the historic peace agreement reached by both the US and Russia in Syria. Either way the Saudis are not convinced of Hillary Clinton securing the White House and are scared stiff of Trump's emergence. So this is why they are aligning with Russia and in so doing dumping the petrol dollar. Interesting times lie ahead in the coming weeks. 2 Likes 1 Share |

olatunji21:China will do nada. The US is currently in south east asia contesting for territories with china and winning. What do you expect the Chinese to do ? Shoot down an American military jet? They haven't done that yet even under American incursion into so-called Chinese islands in asia, they sure as hell are not doing it for North korea which is more or less suicide anyway. China cannot stop an American invasion of any foreign country. Btw, unlike Syria, putin has no justifiable reason to be in North korea(a country under severe UN sanctions governed by a mad man with nukes), so sorry Russia would only bark and that is it. If Putin attempts anything beyond words that may just be what would tilt everything that would finally make Washington to say ''fucck it, we've had enough'' and enter a WW3. And my money is on America to win. Turkey is irrelevant as a lame dog. And a member of NATO too. 1 Like |

CSTR2: My ISIS little friend, you mean Amerika can just say “fvck it” and then commit suicide against Mother Russia by having her electric grids; financial system (choke points, including the Federal Reserve, a few major banks, debit and credit card company data centers, etc.); interstate highway system (import terminals, highway bridges & tunnels); rail and ocean freights; airlines; and oil and gas pipelines destroyed with Russian tactical nuclear balls of fire while the Amerikan sheeple watch it live on CNN? Disable all of the above, and it’s pretty much game over for Amerika. How many “tactical nuclear balls of flame” do you think that would take? Probably well under a thousand. Come on man, by now, you should know the incredible calamity that befell Russia during WW2 was only because she was invaded, and it has conditioned & upgraded the Russian military thinking ever since. The next large-scale war will be fought on the enemy's territory. Thus, if Amerika attacks Russia, Russia will counterattack the Amerikan mainland without any hesitation - keeping in mind that the Amerika hasn’t fought a war on her own territory in over 150 years, this would come as quite a shock. A few months without access to money & financial services, electricity, gasoline, diesel, natural gas, air transport or imported spare parts needed to repair the damage should be enough to force your Amerika to capitulate. And If she makes any efforts to restore any of these services, an additional strike or two would quickly negate them. In the meantime, you should keep masturbating on your Lockeed Martin's Youtube videos with your CSTR 1 to 40 monikas. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Zoharariel:The fact that you believe America is supposedly committing suicide in a war with Russia- a country with a relatively inferior technological base and a much inferior economy shows how deluded you putin lovers can be. The fact that you also believe Russia can prevent the largest exporter of crude in the world and the world's largest economy and defence conglomerates from energy and materials shows the iredeemability of your situation. In a war with America, Russia would be obliterated. I am certain of that 100%. That is when you would come to fully understand the massive difference between western and eastern technology and why the US is by far the largest exporter of military technology in the world, and why America is not overly bothered about the numerical inbalance with Russia in terms of active nukes . America would definitely suffer significant losses in lives, economy and infrastructure but we would survive and rebuild. Russia though will not survive it. |

South Korea can't do anything about the North because Pyongyang is already a nuclear power and is playing with the big boys. Don't forget that the North has over 1million army waiting to storm the South in the event of any belligerent act from the dying, war mongering Zionist controlled US. It is also developing its mid and long range missile strike capabilities and with the blessings of China and Russia. The North is doing this just to deter the US from carrying out acts of aggression against it because their crimes in the Korean war still remain fresh till today! 2 Likes 1 Share |

seagulsntrawler: China won't want to mingle with North Korea because they too are afraid of the US. See a question on it in quora. In the event of a US - China military conflict, how would the fact that the Chinese military has virtually no combat experience affect the outcome? https://www.quora.com/In-the-event-of-a-US-China-military-conflict-how-would-the-fact-that-the-Chinese-military-has-virtually-no-combat-experience-affect-the-outcome |
