I can testify to this I was initially reluctant to try d breastmilk and was given chloramphenicol in the hospital but after finishing it d discharge was still there. 6 weeks later I was given an ointment to rub directly into baby's eyes in the hospital but I couldn't take that risk n so I started researching then I read about using breastmilk 6 times daily . I only used it about 5 times which were immediately I finish feeding him and it cleared under 1 day

Amhappy:
My baby's eyes is itching her. She makes a fist to scratch. Also there is yellow discharge,my mum said dropping breast milk in the eyes will cure it but I'm not sure this is working. Any ideas? The eye is not red, just white

Has anyone experienced this? My 7weeks old boy does not poo-poo everyday, sometimes once in 3days, and lately 5days...his fart can knock an elephant out... grin grin grin Lol. We initially started using gripe water to soften his stomach, and lately He had 'ella', this body rash that appears on newborn and we have been using 'agbo' and herbal soap to bathe him, the 'agbo woman' prescribed agbo jeddi for babies which we have been giving him but his poo-poo is still not regular.
He eats regularly and normally..the boy can suck and eat...Lol and he keeps gaining weight so I am kind of happy he is growing well, but the poo thing worries me. Is it normal or should we have something to worry about.

Agbo? Pls babies can't talk n it's very important we are careful with what they take in. Agbo is a no pls.

Take lots of fruits and he will take those fruits from your breast milk, hence his poo will soften.

Also, always take vitamin C. Your baby can take litle qty of orange, use warm cloth to massage his tommy daily. With this, he won't have issues pooing.

Stay away from Agbo, the water used for preparing the Agbo self is enough put off.

yes, i agree wit u. Pap especialy wen its a combination of d 3 its more nutritious than a tin of cereal.
Secondly, Its natural and gives room 4 other combination like crayfish, soya beans, plaintain, groundnut etc, unlike cereal.
Thirdly, its cheaper and lasts longer.
Seconded, and it makes babies sleep for long so someone can rest grin

The rate this pages are running eh, I ve been busy doing serious reading/catching up.
Can't differentiate the speed in pregnancy thread and this thread, am loving it though wink
This place is becoming more interesting thanks the Onegai and other mamas keeping it alive. I use to stay for days if I don't get mentions from here and when I come back, I just get to read few pages but guess that's not the case again. Infact, I came here few days ago and when I saw the number of pages to read up, I had to close it for a later time and the more I wait, the more the pages are running out.

I even came late for Abj books. Guess I will wait for other Abj mamas to indicate interest, then kidco can send to US cos I cannot come and buy 50books alone. My Age range is 2-7years. I ve contacted kidco already. Tojued pls ignore that mention. I came late for that order.

You add disinfectant and salt to warm or lukewarm water and sit in it making sure your jajaina touches the water. Do this several times daily, the Sitz Bowl pictured is most ideal cos it's comfortable and doesn't put pressure on your stitch(unlike sitting inside a regular bowl placed on the floor) just place it on your toilet sit and relax .

It's sold for like 1500-2000 naira.
I can't thank u enough for your reply.. thanks alot bt pls can I still do this 7weeks after delivery?

What all the mamas told you already. I believe your boy is formula fed so not pooing daily is normal.

I'm only responding to beg you to stop with the agbo gedi. Poor boy.

Rather than using agbo that you don't know the constituents to bathe him, why not use boil neem leave (dogoyaro) by yourself to use? An experienced-mummy-friend swears by it.

Stadora, pls fry d crayfish before grinding, I use blender for my own sha and store inside mayonnaise jar.

After making ur pap, just add it to the little u want to feed ur baby with per time. But don't make use of it every time so he won't be tired of it especially the smell.

@Stadora u can also substitute grounded dried fish for crayfish, dey both av same nutrients content(dried cat fish or saw a fish)... I even prefer d blended dried fish cos d crayfish can b tiring cos of d smell

u grind it together with the grains, not separate.

Meanwhile, as for me I don't peel but I make sure I wash it very very well, slice and sun dry, then mix with my grains for grinding.

k maam, thanks 4 d explanation

I don't really know much. It is reading, listening to the right people and trusting my instinct when I can. I made a lot of mistakes and I'm glad she's fine.
Stooooopet. Humble much.
You know it all. You and Alphahandmaiden. You girls remind me of Hermione Granger. smiley
Sometimes I wish I could hand one of you two my baby and get her back when you are done weaning her.
