That was my point, Sterling actually came through the youth ranks at QPR. Once a player is playing regular epl matches that player is no longer an academy player.

yes wonderful but what about the 8 or so years he spent at QPR? Yes it works for homegrown player rules but does that mean he is a youth product of liverpool? I think in that case the credit goes to QPR, I see youth product as players who had been with the cub since a kid. A player like Iwobi can be considered a true youth product. Iheanacho could easily have been loaned out when he got there, Man city didn't want to loan him. Look at Kelechi Nwakali who is already on loan. My point is although technically Iheanacho is a Man City youth product, in fact he really isn't. If they produced Iheanacho let them produce another one and then i'll be a believer.

Liverpool established Sterling as a Senior player. Manchester City did that for Iheanacho.
