Really , I want both of them to release their medical records because i remember in the 80s when President Reagan was showing sign of dementia towards the end of his 2nd term in office. He eventually died of it several years later.

It depends on the part of the country too. Imagine someone making that paltry sum in a city like N/Y, Los Angeles, Chicago or San Francisco. It's impossible unless if the person is married with wife or husband or cohabiting. But in a smaller cities or some of those southern cities, I think it is possible with good management.

Do you think your idol, Racist Tramp who is 70 years old with protruding gut and double chin is in perfect medical condition ?. Nonetheless, a person earning $28,000/yr could afford a $1,000 monthly rent for a one-bedroom apartment. BTW, that's the average cost of rent in my county in CA.
A 2-bedroom rent is around $1,500, which is over 64% of one person's yearly income of $28k. So, moving in with a boyfriend/girlfriend, or spouse would reduce the burden as both of them would split the cost of rent.
