You now Negative G, is just another term for flying inverted!! If you said a Negative G pushover maneuver then that another story ( actually not really as small civilian aircraft can also do it)

what about the current cease fire position? and the deal whereby the govt. and the various rebel groups will work together to flush out ISIS dogs?

It's all meaningless bullsh1t

Fighting around alleppo is still happening FSA took out a Syrian army field gun with a TOW yesterday.

I checked the ticker map this morning and it shows Aleppo is surrounded again.

Syrian Army trapped huge numbers of rebel fighters in the city. Watch, all this talk about ceasefire will be a build up by Americans to get "civilians" (ie:rebels) safe passage out of the city.

Trump has to win, it's the only way we can see a meaningful end to this war. Otherwise we are looking at least another 2-3 years of fighting... Although Syrian government victory now looks likely

Hey Henry, great job with this thread. Are you in the armed
forces?
You seem to know everything. Err... What do you
know about the Nigerian marine corps. Thanks

If i got a kobo for everytime i get asked this question, i'll have been a billionaire by now. No Sir, i'm not in the armed forces, although some of my family members work for a different arm of our security service. However, i'm not. I am a Nigerian banker, and a full time military nut.

We have no marine corps, what we do have is an Army amphibious unit.

Cool... Seen a couple of guys in some khaki combinations who carry themselves like military. I've walked up to some and asked, they said they're Marines. Trained but uncommissioned, for now

Want a video to prove it??

That will be good. Tactical maneuver that are possible on airliners are barrel roll. And it has only been done once with a 707 and Air China 747 which wasn't complete. It was up to 60 degrees before the pilot disengage auto pilot.
So doing a negative G isn't possible on an airliner as they are not aerodynamically capable to.

I will be waiting for your video too.

Plans to build an upgraded Mk2 Rooivalk combat support helicopter look promising according to Secretary for Defence, Dr Sam Gulube.

Speaking ahead of the opening of the Africa, Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition at AFB Waterkloof today (Tuesday) he said discussions and negotiations were ongoing with potential African partners to both contribute to actual manufacture of Rooivalk Mk 2 and potential users.

“We are looking at about 60 or so aircraft to be used by African air forces as well as their possible sale to BRICS partners, Brazil and India.”

With current global economic conditions, DoD and Denel are at best overly optimistic or at worst naive. Now that they've come out publicly, I can confirm that an upgrade of the current MK1 to MK1.1 has been approved, within the next 5 years. The upgrades include sights and targeting sytems, work on the cannon, acquisition and integration of the FZ275 LGR : Semi-Active Laser (SAL) Guided Rocket (successfully tested on the Rooivalk last October and therefore Denel won't start integration work from scratch), improved payload and somework on the pylons, and better survivability etc.

1) Correct on the 1st photo; deliberately included to further persuade @Henry240 as to the utility of RDRVs: when your president has to fly to a hot, kinetic and dicey situation in a dodgy capital with 48-hours notice, your SF has to deploy appropriately within that time-frame and with available airlift in mind. How you deploy requisite number of LAVs (Henry's preferred vehicle for SF) with Herc C-130s (still the standard airlift A/C for most militaries on our continent) at such short notice still eludes me.

We got 10 Hornets & trailers from 5Recce in various configurations (C4ISR, personnel carrier, MRL/mortar/AGL/20mm&12.7mm MG) in 48 hours into Burundi (talk about rapid deploment!) with almost 50 operators and ended up protecting and escorting from the airport to Bujumbura State House not only our president, but also those from Senegal, Gabon, Mauritania and Ethiopia under the auspices of the AU.

Same thing SASFB did in Monrovia, Liberia back in 2003 when those 2 giants of African diplomacy, Mbeki and Obasanjo, forced Charles Taylor to resign and go into exile;

2) Last I was at Denel, there were 2 Cheetahs there;

3) Your answer is not complete - its more than your "run-of-the-mill" CSIR pod. What is it and why is it so important?
