Very easy to tell. Who gave them a debut at Senior level? That will tell you the club they are a youth product of.

Pogba = Manchester United. Sad he did not stay to learn under Paul Scholes. A season of two with Paul Scholes would have made him top notch.

Bros, I think Paul Pogba without Paul Scholes is already a top notch. One of the top 10 best player in the world.

Started at QPR's youth system... Spent about 5-7yrs there right?... Hardly knew he was at QPR sef... Lol... continued at Liverpool where he spent 2yrs in Liverpool's youth system before starring for the senior side from 2012-2015 (at age 17+ till he was 20+)... Annnndd.... Now at Man City at 21 going on 22 in December.

So lemme see.... Hmmm...

QPR take the basic fundamental years of Sterling's youth devt while Liverpool take the Advanced fundamental years of his youth devt...
He's basically a product of both academies but Liverpool will take credit for his later stage devt before his move to City.

So I'll say he's a liverpool "youth" product. At QPR, he was still a "cadet"... smiley

BascoVanVeli:

The question is who's youth product is he? Liverpool or QPR?

We prepared him for senior team football and gave him his debut. He was Manchester City's young player of the year.

Clap for us. We did good there. Sad that he wanted to go back to Spain because of Personal reasons. Many tipped him as Silva's replacement. I suspect one chick wanted him in Spain. Umu Nwanyis (young girls).

I am just going by what u said and Suarez got established by going on loan for Barca. Just like Pogba=Man U. Suarez=Sevilla.

You forget Manu Garcia at CD Alaves who scored that last gasp equalizer against Atletico madrid in the first week of the on-going La Liga.

TheGoodJoe:

LOL. Our youth product, Dennis Suarez is playing for Barcelona.

I will give you four names to watch out for in the near future. Angelino, Maffeo, Adarabioyo and Mini Messi Brahim Diaz.

Calling him a cadet would be a little unfair to QPR because he was sold for a substancial amount. That shows he was at a good level at even that stage.

Paul Pogba is one player that I had interest in. Followed him from when he joined Manchester United in his young teens.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson felt he was not ready and brought Paul Scholes back from retirement. SAF wanted Pogba to know how to control the midfield with simple passes. Not the wild runs, the mazy dribbles or the breathtaking skills. Do it the simple way. Unfortunately, Pogba was not ready to learn and left. Sad Conte could not pass this knowledge because Pogba still does not know how to keep it simple.

When you watch Pirlo or Thiago Motta play, you feel their presence. Watch Fernandinho against Manchester United. He owned that midfield. It was his world. Drop Pirlo in that position and take out Pogba and Pirlo will take over.

That is what Pogba missed not sitting on the bench and watching Scholes. He felt he was ready. This is something that comes Natural to Mikel. The simple and beautiful way.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:20am On Sep 13, 2016
Yeah... He cost quite much for a 15+ year old. Liverpool paid about 600,000 pounds as initial fee for him in 2010.

But he was still a cadet. That's just the fact. City have a certain "Brahim Diaz" who is about 16 or so and who I tip to be a super star. He's so good on the ball and so awesome in his gameplay..... But he's still a "cadet" wink

Liverpool groomed Sterling throughout his advanced teen years. They made Sterling who he is today... Whatever Man City will mould Sterling into in the future and now is built on what Liverpool did with Sterling between Ages 15 and 20.

That is my point, he said for a player to be considered a youth product he had to have been established at the club. No other Man City youth product as of late has been established at the club. They are getting established elsewhere so I want to know what makes Iheanacho a man city youth product. Considering that the late Keshi even toyed with the idea of him forcing his way in the world cup.

Are you serious?
<Banging My Head On the table.> (Concussion things)

I saw the list of promoted players by Guardiola. Five which are Angus Gunn, Tosin Adarabioyo, Angelino, Maffeo, Aleix Garcia. I wondered what happened to Manu Garcia. I did not know he was at Deportivo Alaves.

I did not watch closely in the last game against Barcelona where they beat Barca 2-1. They play a similar style to Atletico Madrid and I see them staying up. He was on the bench.

Thanks man. That is good news and Manu Garcia is under a good coach.

Do you know that I just looked up the name of the coach of Alaves and I screamed.

Mauricio Pellegrino. He played for Rafael Benitez at Valencia and Liverpool. Worked as one of his coaches at Liverpool. I always tipped him to make a top manager.

Glad he is doing well.

Your argument is funny. Because Manchester City is so competitive for our Youth products to establish at the club, players like Guidetti, Rony Lopes, Denayer etc, then Iheanacho is not a Man City product.

Did you read what you wrote?

Liverpool took a young Sterling and groomed him for their senior team. He is a Liverpool youth product. Manchester City signed a Youth product from Liverpool called Sterling.

Manchester City signed Iheanacho as a teenager, groomed him for the senior team. He is a Manchester City youth product.

The rules explains why Iheanacho is a Manchester City youth product.

I think I will also consider Nacho a Man City Youth Product.

Why? Here's why...

Nacho joined Man City's Academy (The EDS) in 2014 at age 17 shortly before his 18th birthday.

Before that, he had his first preaseason with them at age 17 in the summer of 2014 training with and being tutored by City coaches.

He's been with the EDS since October 2014 before his breakthrough into the first(senior) team in September 2015.

His growth was rapid and his rise super meteoric becasue he was such a super special talent who didn't need to wait an extra year before featuring in senior games frequently.

Remember he was the most outstanding talent at UAE 2013 and possibly the finest talent ever seen in the history of the Fifa U-17 World cup based on his stats and performances.

It's true that Nacho honed his basic skills while in Nigeria and is also a natural super talent as most of his features as a player can't even be taught to all youngsters.

But he became even more monstrous at Man City's Academy/EDS... The Work the likes of Patrick Viera and co put into Nacho was amazing and he picked up quickly and inculcated what he learnt quickly and smartly into his game hence his super quick rise. And he's still only 19.

Bottomline: His Advanced Teen years (a player's critical key devt. time) were all spent at Man City.

Did Manchester City sign Iheanacho before he became a senior player? Yes.

Did Manchester City groom him for the senior team? Yes.

Was it before he turned 21 years?

Was it up to three years? (That is why he becomes a full home-grown player by the end of this season)

That means Iheanacho is a Manchester City youth player.

Even without Pirlo he was still doing it for Juva last season. Bros, the lad is more of a box to box midfielder and not a deep or holden midfielder.

That is his style and I don't think he needs to be forced to play shot passes when he is good at long passes. Besides, he was assist master in the Serie A league. So, what does he need to learn again?

Huh?? Looollll....

You never knew before now.?? Manu Garcia is already pulling some weight in the la liga... Lolll...

He's such a fine player that has already featured for your senior team and even scored in the Capital One league cup... all last season.

I see him as the future of Man City alongside young super guns like Nacho "Alien Kid" wink , Gabriel Jesus, Marlos Moreno, R. Sterling, L.Sane, T. Adarabioyo, Brahim Diaz and a couple of others.

Surprised you didn't know... Anyway, you're welcome Sir Goodjoe. wink

And yeah, in response to your second post, he's indeed under a good coach... Imagine the same club beat Barca just recently though he didn't get to feature in that game....

Hmmm... Rafael benitez connection eh? Well, I wish your player all the best. Just don't lose him like you lost Dennis Suarez to Sevilla and now Barca.

Anyway, I understand why... "The Competition at Man City"

I am just going by what u said and Suarez got established by going on loan for Barca. Just like Pogba=Man U. Suarez=Sevilla.

Suarez was established when he made his debut for Manchester City's senior team. That was where Sevilla saw him to sign him.

Do not complicate it. It is so simple.

Has the player made a debut with the senior team before they signed him?

If yes, then he is not a youth product of that team. Dennis Suarez made his debut with Manchester City senior team. Just like Manu Garcia against Chelsea last season.

Pogba played for Manchester United’s senior team before going to Juventus.

Sterling played for Liverpool senior team before joining Manchester City.

The transfer window was crazy for City with Sane, Gundogan, Nolito, Stones coming in and Bony, Mangala, Nasri, Hart, Denayer leaving on loans that I missed Garcia's transfer. I hope he makes it but I think Gundogan's capture made him change his mind to make a name for himself somewhere. I hope he makes it at City.

Definitely, he can not learn now. It is late. He is now a box to box player. However, I feel he is not perfect for the box to box like Arturo Vidal. That was why Conte played him wide some times and had Vidal do the protecting.

I think Mourinho should reduce Pogba's defensive responsibility and give him more license to attack. The time to learn has passed with the heavy price tag on his shoulders.

I say he brings Rojo back into the defence and play Blind and Fellaini in defence/central midfield. Giving Pogba freedom to move from the midfield to attack. This will make him utilize his skills, pace and shot power.

I am sure there were at least 5 teams in the epl that would have put Iheanacho straight in their starting lineup upon arrival. Man City just happened to win the bid. As for coaching i wouldn't expect any team to buy a player and not coach him up. Every team has their own system and when a new player arrives he must be put up to speed.

I do get your points. And no, I am not avoiding any fact. All he achieved up to that point at age 17 was the basic fundamental which launched him no doubt.

But his Advanced teen years (a very key and critical devt stage for any young player) were spent under the world class academy youth coaches at Man City's Etihad Campus.

That added to his already "beastly-like" Super talents has made him even more super valuable today and hey! He's still only 19... Will be 20 next month and just imagine what kind of "Monster" wink he is going to become when he hits his peak...

So In conclusion, Credit Nigeria's U-17 System and Taye academy in owerri for his Early teens devt period.

It all depended on work permit, take that out of the way Iheanacho could have started for even Liverpool that year. He could have stayed in Nigeria and dominated the league. At the point he was a man amongs boys. Age doesn't always matter Rooney was what age at everton? When players like Manu Garcia start playing for city 1st team then i can truely say they have taken strides. Btw i am a barca fan but i always support any team with Nigerians-not playing barca-:-). You are very much right Sir, but if the place where one plays is the only criteria for selecting players for national teams and not what they can do then, Sunday Mba and Aaron Samuel should not have won the Green White Green.

They are players who do not play in the best leagues in the World, but that in it self does not take away their talent.

U sincerely believe Adi, Kayode and Fatai can offer more than what Iheanacho, Ighalo,Moses, Musa and d likes are offering?

I just remembered the guy just dis morning and I decided to check if he is back from injury. He is back and he has played 2 matches this season.

He came in as a substitute on Sunday but I have not seen him play.

Despite that, the lad is good but his confidence level has gone down.

U sincerely believe Adi, Kayode and Fatai can offer more than what Iheanacho, Ighalo,Moses, Musa and d likes are offering?
