The recent downturn of events which has plummeted our economy into recession is just a test of patriotism. A nation is only held in a piece by the patriotic spirits of its citizens. The same case is applicable to Nigeria. We all are collectively Nigerians irrespective of ethnic, lingual, religious and cultural differences. The call for secession should be suspended for now. You don't leave an uncompleted building to go build another. What we are going to achieve as a federation is greater than what we all are going to achieve as different federations. It is up to us to keep the nation together and help build it. The World holds a great reputation of us but we daint the reputation they know us with. Together, we can get out of recession and surpass our former status aggressively.
It is time we dig deep into our potentials. Government neither can feed nor cater for over 180million people. We've gotta show the World that we are most active at the dial minute. We are Nigerians and Naija no dey carry last. Help make our economy better. Buhari can't do it alone, he needs his countrymen, his fellow citizens and noble patriots. If you think there is no hope for us, compare us with those big nations(USA, Japan, China, South Korea, etc) and see that we have virtually everything they have and have even more. We just need #REFORMATION. Join the call for #REFORMATION so that we can get the dream Nigeria we've always wanted and yearned for. Team up with the Government, Police and the Military and stay crime-free.
If you doubt our recovery, start the comparision game. Nigeria Vs ( any country you want.

Patriotic citizens should forget about the wailers and concentrate on finding every means possible to enter the fray with those going into production of goods and services hitherto imported into the nation in order to help lift the nation out of economic recession.

America and many developed nations of the world are the way they are today because the citizens were patriotic enough to contribute their quotas even when the person in power is not their preferred candidate. They too have never had a perfect head of government.

For those still shouting "our OYEL" on this forum, I wish to inform your ignorance that oil constitute less than 10% of our national GDP. 90% of our GDP comes from non oil sources.

The problem is that we are not producing enough locally to satisfy local demand and for export.

With the way the economy is currently being managed- with the current efforts being put into agriculture, mining and manufacturing; 3 to 5 years from now, non- oil exports will form the major bedrock of our foreign exchange earnings.

Nigeria is not an uncompleted building. Nigeria is a completed building whose foundation was faulty and whose supporting structures were built with inferior substandard materials.

She is a disaster waiting to happen to all who inhabit it, she would naturally eventually collapse on them all.

Its only remedy is demolition, as nothing can be done to remedy its faulty foundation, building more structures on it will only fasten the day of collapse.

Patriotic citizens like Buhari and his Northern and Yoruba supporters who divided the colonial entity into 97% and 5%.

Patroitic citizens like Buhari who aligned with his Nigerien Fulani kinsman over an Igbo Nigerian by the name Peter Onu?

Patriotic Buhari supporters who supported the imprisonment of a Nigerian over the threat of a Fulani Man from Niger republic, who threatened to take his( the Nigerian) life?

You lots never cease to amaze me with this your demonic attachment to Nigerian unity that you hope to share with people who obviously have nothing in common with you, and who you loathe just as much as they loathe you.

Patriotism
When a whole President went to the CNN to announce how he has split the country into 97% and 5%.

I am as patriotic as Buhari,
So you don't expect me a 5% to be as patriotic as the 97%.

See, my patriotism was just 5%.
After Fulani herdsmen invaded our lands and Nigeria didn't send soldiers after them, it has reduced to 1%.

Thus thread has reduced it to ZERO.

Bros, the cattle rearers in America are not slaughtering fellow Americans in the name of doing their business.

Until you folks find a solution to the menace of descendants of Usman Dan Fodio and their cronies, we shall continue to do our best to make sure this fraud is brought down.

I am very passionate when it comes to patriotism, but I k is where heart is.

Next??

The problem with you zombirudeens is self denial. Junaid mohammed have told us to go to hell with 'our oyel'. Ciroma have said, 'go to hell with your oyel! . So many muslim zombies like from north and yorubaland have said the same. The problem is- your are still leeched on to the 'oyel' that you are telling us 'to go to hell with'.

Is that not insanity?

They are clowns.
having. Nigeria and patriotism on the same sentence can only be. I'm comedy.

From the so called Amalgamation till now, Nigeria has been a slaughter house and somebody have they guts to talk to me about patriotism.

The day the tyrant called Buhari declares a shoot as at sight order on the Fulani herdsmen who are invading our lands, my patriotism will rise to 10%.

For now, it is ZERO.

Well, our point of view differs and so does our approach to issues. Go out into the street and find out. For once, let's not be negative and all blame-pouring. Need i remind you that your ancestors signed the amalgamation document (which expired last two years)
Oil or no oil, we need Nigeria. The only mistake here is that your leaders see it as a compulsory. C'mon guys, it is up to you to decide. The future status of Nigeria lies in your hands, keep it united or split it. #Revolution_is_not_the_best.

Please no one should blame the op, he only speaks or types what he learned by rote. Whenever he seeks the illumination of history and knowledge he will be properly guided.

He uses America as an example but forgets that a large portion of d current country called America originally belonged to other people, natives who were forcibly uprooted or killed. Today they seek justice but because they are a largely civilised and enlightened society, no one threatens d natives with more war and elimination if they don't keep quiet. No one callously tells them to forget their history! In Nigeria however, we are asked to forget d losses of d civil war and move on yet still threatened with more of the same if we don't behave.

The op does not realise that states that make up d USA or mostly independent and joined d union voluntarily. He does not understand that d states control their resources and distribute as they deem fit with d centre serving mainly for policy formulation and as a rallying point. If Nigeria were structured this way with equity, fairness and justice as d pillars of her existence as well as voluntary willingness of d various nations within Nigeria to remain as a union, we would have been a major force to reckon with but as it is, Nigeria is just big for nothing, a blight on the surface of d earth!

Within d current context and reality of Nigeria, patriotism is 'just a word' like recession.

Believe whatever you like. I know that Nigeria is literally in the past but for the time being, we need to reform the nation. Catalonia in Spain is still pushing for exit but they've got their nation arranged. Do the Igbos want to leave without a standard airport, seaport, road network and good transportation system? If Biafra is actualised, what would the economy be like or will they be a consuming nation just like Nigeria? Follow Catalonia's style, reformation first.
And please, what is OP?
