Good morning @goget, let the house know how many Wh your servers consume in total. Or do you really need 8 kVA 24/24h 7/7days? Your firm must be burning a lot of fuel to keep the gensets running? Where are you located? Asking because of amount of insolation. I guess you have deep cycle VRLA batteries for UPS usage. For commercial solar usage I'd recommend flooded lead-acid batteries. regards, |

Thanks all for the swift response You are damn right we burn a lot of fuel especially during the day. We are located in Abeokuta and as some who lives in abeokuta knows that the light situation is worst The inverter system is used to power the office both day and night. Or existing system is 8KVa/144V inverter 12nos, 12V/200Ah batteries |

I need a 130 or 180 or 200 watt panel to add to my current panel installation. Anyone with a trusted and perfectly rated panel here? Just give me the prices and let meet to transact thanks |

dicksonadams:Be careful when adding new panels to an existing array... For series connections, match the Imp as close as possible. For parallel connections, match the Vmp as close as possible. Failure to do this not only reduces the effective power of your array, but degrades your CC's ability to track the maximum power point! |

I am interested in the csun 200watt, what is your best price and please can you confirm the maximum power current and voltage for me. Cause some products rating can be wrong |

Barezzi: What if the person is using a mppt charge controller. I initially have 2 130 watt panel {260} connected in series to charge a 200ah battery. But the highest watt I have gotten so far is 130watt 9amp and volt fluctuating between 13 and 13.9 or so. Please what would you recommend |

goget:a 7kw-8kw solar panel system should charge your 12 batteries, u can have more depending on d no of hours of daily power usage |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 8:27am On Sep 12, 2016 |
codemaster2much:Get a new CC and put the bigger panels on it. Connect to the same battery bank. The mppt cc tracks the maximum power of your array. When you mix-match panels of different ratings, the maximum power of your array will be driven by the lowest rated panel. Connecting your 2 (130w) panels to 2 (200w) panels in series will not give you 660w. Maximum power will be Imp of the 130w panel multiplied by the sum of the Vmp of the 4 panels. As you can see, the 130w will pull down the bigger panels to its level. |

Barezzi: That translate to more cable and cc cost. Feeling sad. Tot I could connect in series or parallel to solve the problem |

Guys need advise, what is the best way to connect 130watt x2 And 80watt x2 to get the best power from the system to charge my battery {200ah} |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by codemaster2much: 11:46pm On Sep 14, 2016 |
DMerciful: 80w is 21.6 while the 130watt is 22 |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 6:12am On Sep 15, 2016 |
You can connect the 80W in series and the 120W in series then parallel these 2 strings...the might me a little loss due to d slight voltage difference but its pretty small. Or better still get 2 small mppt and run the two panel type separately to ur battery. codemaster2much: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by codemaster2much: 7:28am On Sep 15, 2016 |
DMerciful: I have an mppt and a pwm I was using before... Do you think this is OK and how can I connect them. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 8:52am On Sep 15, 2016 |
if you system is 24v inverter, PWM will not be efficient for use in the 80W series so get another small mppt. if your system is 12v, then connect the 80W in parallel with at least 10mm cables through ur PWM to your battery while the 130W should be in series through the mppt to ur battery. codemaster2much: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by codemaster2much: 11:28am On Sep 15, 2016 |
DMerciful:it is a 12v battery system. And the 80watt is poly while the 130 is mono. Don't know where to get the 10mm cable, check both jumia and konga . |

Go with this option,no need to worry yourself. You can connect the 80W in series and the 120W in series then parallel these 2 strings...the might me a little loss due to d slight voltage difference but its pretty small. codemaster2much: |

Hi all, I have a question. Electricity from solar seems pretty inefficient to me. Panels supply DC, inverter converts To AC and excess to DC. When panels are not supplying power, inverter converts DC back to AC. If I want to use only DC gadgets in my house or a hybrid where all my lights are to be fed by DC with dedicated points for any battery charging also fed by DC, pumping machine fed by DC then the rest of the house fed by AC, what options do I have? |
