''Hello Nairalanders, pls i need your advice on what to do.
I’m a single guy of 28yrs, and never thought of going into a relationship anytime soon, not even in this time of change. But about a couple of months ago, March to be precise, i met this lady, who had an emotional problem due to breakup with her boyfriend of 6yrs. This lady wasn’t herself back then, because the relationship with the guy had cost her a lot of things (a lot). By God’s grace, with time i helped her through what she described as the most difficult period of her life. I brought her back the happiness she craves for. I tried to let her put her past to where it belongs. We both get along together very well and am happy to see happy and lively again.
The problem now is that she wants me, she’s in love with me and i know it. She always think i feel the same way she feels. She even told one her friend that the only person she now thinks about is me. But for me, am just being friend and i don't want any attachment to it.. Am not just ready for any relationship for now…. (cos I've got so many things to do).
What do you think i should do?
I don't want her to feel bad about my decision and my stance.

Before dealing others' problem why you didn't told her at the very beginning that you only wanted to help and be her "psychiatrist" and not her part time lover?

Unless she opens her mouth and profess her love to you, don't assume she does. Anyway, if you're so sure she is waiting for you, be the friend you claim to be, sit down with the girl and tell her that she is really very sweet and that you do not want to hurt her as the feeling is not mutual. And cos of that, you will not want to tread on the path of something as serious as a relationship.

Promise her that you'll remain her friend always.
