Finally, I believe laws can be changed, abolished or refined but as for principles they are forever. Perhaps the principles behind the sabathical law was to keep us in check not to keep storing treasure here on earth as if the wealth can add a day to our lives or to give reverential treatment to day e.t.c. That is a very good observation from you.

Notice also that the Sabbath is the only commandment that points to the true GOD and tells us why we must worship Him:

Who is the true GOD? The Lord GOD (Exod. 20:10)

Why should we worship Him? Because He created every thing, including us (Exod. 20:11)

So, forgetting the Sabbath will be to forget our Creator.
