Exclusive photos: Fire razes Police barracks in Lagos

Around 11AM on Friday, a wild inferno swept across residential buildings at Ijeh Police Station, in Obalende under the Lagos State Police Command. The fire destroyed properties worth millions of naira belonging to police officers whom mostly have gone out for the day's work.

One policeman who gave his name as Inspector Mike said it took firefighters an hour to arrive the scene:
"It took the fire service more than one hour before they responded to our distress call.

By the time they came, the fire has reduced everything into a rubble. That’s why we drove the fire fighters away."

Another resident named Martina Undie added:
"You can see that all the 24 flats have been completely burnt. We could not salvage anything."
No lives were lost in the incident but according to eyewitness, a man who was taken to hospital "got some serious burns on his body."

In September 2014, fire destroyed 40 flats in the Ijeh Police barracks during a similar incident.

Na wao. They drove the Fighter away. They are now feeling what a common citizen feels when they call them during robbery operation and they won't show up unti 3 hours after wc they force you to go to station and Lodge formal complaint in which you are tasked money again to buy book, writing material, and logistics items.
By the way, those are shanties now.

Nemesis is surely doing a fantastic magic in that dungeon.
Someone must have been wrongly maltreated and in return, sent thunderstorms to raise down the evil house of evil men

So police are complaining that if took fire fighters more grease an hour to arrive at the scene, How many hours does it have them to arrive at a robbery scene. Probably when the robbers had left, that's when they arrive blaring their sirens.

This is just a case of pot and kettle.

Even public lavatory like that should be an eyesore to people from other African countries, except those living in slum cities.

The giant of Africa .
