The bible is one of the most printed books in the world. It is read by millions of people of different culture,age,class and unsurprisingly it is also the most misinterpreted book. Let me cut d lng story short and give u six of these misconceptions

6. A WHALE SWALLOWED JONAH : this is scientifically impossible because most species of whale have a small throat which can neva b used 2 swallow a fully grown man. D bible only said a great fish (Jonah 1:17) nd a whale is nt even a fish it is a mammal.

5. ADAM AND EVE ATE AN APPLE : contrary to popular belief, Adam and Eve did nt eat an apple. The bible only said the 'fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17, 3:3). D reason every body tinks it is an apple is because old/medieval english wasn't as complex as modern english, apple was used to represent every fruit and nut except berries

4. DELILAH CUT OFF SAMSON's HAIR : even tho she was d 1 who cunningly discover his weakness, she waznt d 1 who cut his hair bt it was actually her manservant(Judges 16:19)

3. 'HEAVEN HELP THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES' : a lot of pple tink any sentence with 'God', 'Jesus', 'heaven' etc is always 4rm d bible. I'm so sori to burst their bubble but this famous quote is far from the bible, it was actually said by Benjamin Franklin(a Founding Father of USA).

THREE WISE MEN PRESENTED JESUS GIFTS : d only thing d bible said was dat they presented three gifts(Matthew 2:11), the bible never disclose their number but we lyk 2 assume they are three in churches, schools,dramas(i even acted as one of the 'three wise men') etc. I use Matthew 2:1 to back that up.

ADAM AND EVE WERE SENT OUT FOR EATING THE FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL : i can say this is d greatest misconception but they were actually sent out so that they wil nt eat d fruit of the tree of life. Eating out of it wud av made dem immortal and lyk a rival to God. And remember in Exodus 20:5 ...... for I the LORD thy God am a jealous ...... God wants no rival.(Genesis 3:22-23)

8. I cover myself with the blood of Jesus


Haba. Where is this written? Biko nu..
The blood is the atonement for our sins.. He shed his blood once and for all. We should always remember sin and death has no hold over us cos his blood was shed..

The knowledge of what it did is enough..
Bathing in the "supposed blood" makes no sense

Ur status in christ was as a result of the shedding already

9. It is well
Though appeared in the bible, the shunamite woman having lost her son and on her way to see the man of God told passerbys, gehazi and her hubby .. It is well.

But when she got to the Man of God ( the person she knows can solve her problem ; raise her dead baby) what did she do?

She broke down.. Bared it all. And got her miracle .

Men of God and christians alike.. Why do u tell ur brethren and followers "it is well" when u hve the capacity to solve that problem..

The annoying thing is, you make the move, ask the questions..

Brethren : mr paul, how are you?, ur child didn't go to school today? Why?

Mr paul : my brother, haven't been able to come up with the fees.

Brethren : it is well o ( and quickly walks away)

Same for pastors

There were three gifts, but the number of wise men was not disclosed. People just assume from those gifts that they were three. The Bible did not say that.
