as a rule, I will never carry office work back home. my house is like my comfort zone, a sanctuary of sorts, besides what work do I want to do at home that I can't do in the office. secondly, in any place one finds himself or herself as per a working environment, discharge your duties to the best of your ability. give your all but not to the detriment of your personal life, because God forbid, if one drops dead, all your superiors will do will not pass observing a minutes silence, condolence visits. one will be replaced in a heartbeat and in a few weeks not even months, one would be forgotten like a non-existing object. 31 Likes 1 Share |

Absolute rubbish. This is for those who have static jobs, like taking stocks and all. The business close at 5:00pm, yet I sometimes leave the office at 7:00pm or more than that. Reason for this is because some issues are forwarded and or escalated, and one cannot just pack up and leave until it's resolved. There is a need a to address the issue immediately. This is true. Especially because most employees are mere cogs in the wheel who do not add any real value to themselves, their position, or to their organisation. Wasting time and space in workplaces in the name of "working hard" is a big joke that is all too common in Nigeria's nepotism-driven and incompetence-riddled employment ecosystem. Some people think of it as a source of pride and esteem for them to always "go out early in the morning and come back late at night", whereas their plight is really as miserable and futile as the burden of Sisyphus.
