I'm defending other programmers same thing I was thinking until I learnt web. Go write a library or web framework then comeback and repeat what you said. You can't expect only one person to be good at hardware/embedded system development, 3D game development, web development, mobile app development, machine learning, digital signal processing etc Because you play with them doesn't mean you can do it at a professional level. Even those who code for academic reasons are still programmers. Another person will come and say if you haven't built an OS or a search engine don't call yourself programmer. Your CV doesn't define the word

But when you get calls from established firms dealing in software, no one is going to ask if you know HTML/PHP. Your logical horizon will b put to the test. I will also blame some of us that use the term to refer to anybody who does anything to do with building a software whereas apart from programmers, there are software engineers, analysts, testers etc and these people are a lot of times rated higher than programmers.

when some people call themselves programmer in Nigeria, you will find out that 9 out of 10 dont really know more than to write a hello world program.
Next, lets come to web developers - once a dude can install wordpress on a server - in Nigeria, he calls himself a professional website developer.

Once upon a time every programmer designed and coded their software idea. Then one day, the business men decided that division of labour was a good thing so they told some to design while others code.

The designer became engineers/architects while the coders where given the nice name of programmer.

But till this day when a coder finds error with design when implementing in the language of choice they either work around it or take the complaint to whom it may concern.

Yes I use WordPress for very little projects, I wasn't upset Ol' man and yes I'm still learning, there's no limit to knowledge.

With a memory manager, you're interacting with hardware so it should be on a server. It's not safe to use a browser for that kind of application but you're wrong again because html, CSS and js can do that with chromium/nodejs

I have been on this codes for about three weeks now, doing all manner of things, including the illogical and crazy things, I even went spiritual(joking). The codes were written to insert some values gotten from the form fields into a table in the database. For some reasons unknown to me the codes didn't work as envisaged. The worst thing is no error is printed on the browser's page.

In order to debug the code, I put the where I run the SQL insert into an if-else statement(if(mysqli_query($product_insert))), but, the codes in the else block run only.

The problem is that u are using a string ($insert_product) as an expression .. U are supposed to be using the variable($insert_pro_query) which u assigned to the mysqli_query function as the expression..
it is supposed to be:

When u do this then the codes in the if block will execute if the data was inserted into the database...
