In March 2015 , DRDO was given the go-ahead to develop a New Surface-to-surface tactical missile which for the first time was confirmed by DRDO’s Annual report for the year 2015 , Tender documents related to the project suggests a new SSM on lines of Shaurya missile with similar dimensions but probably with the incorporation of a seeker . DRDO also has confirmed that it is working on a long-range anti-ship ballistic missile which will also come with a seeker and will have capabilities to hit the target at sea especially enemy warships at nearly 2000km away and Pralay might be the same missile or a derivative which it has been working on for Navy . short development duration of Project Pralay which is now close to its first test flight suggest an amalgamation of existing missile technology . pralay (havoc) SSM/ASBM will probably end up with similar dimensions/specifications of existing shaurya ballistic cum cruise missile as listed below Operational range 700 km @ 1000 kg and 1900 km @ 180 kg Flight altitude 40 Km Speed Mach 7.5 Launch platform Canisterised launch from TEL |

since everybody posting engines GTX-35VS Kaveri it has achieved dry thrust target specifications of 52 Kn. but the Wet Thrust achieved is 81Kn, which is less than desired target of 90-95KN. project was started in 1989 and money spent on the entire project is around 600 million dollars. report was it was cancelled but it was proved wrong only the funding had dried up , now work is going on it and its spinoffs ( around 4-5 aero engines of various class and a marine gas turbine ). problem was mainly lack of government support and funding, to develop a jet engine you need to spend in excess of 2 billion dollars on R & D and testing facilities. present govt has released the much needed funds, and last year or so a major breakthrough was made by developing SCB (single crystal blade) , only 3 / 4 countries have the technology and is a closely guarded secret. SCB are used in the high pressure & compressor sections of jet engines. contrary to common perception the single-crystal structure isn’t intended to cope with temperature, it is to make the blades resistant to the huge mechanical loads that result from their rotational speed. as one designer states "every single blade extracts power from the gas stream equivalent to a Formula One car engine and the centrifugal force on them is equivalent to the weight of a double-decker bus." Normally, metals are composed of many crystals ordered structures of atoms arranged in a regular lattice, which form naturally as the metal cools from a molten state. These crystals are typically of the order of tens of microns in size, positioned in many orientations. At high temperatures and under strain, the crystals can slide against each other, and impurities can diffuse along the boundaries between the grains. This is known as creep, and it badly affected early turbine blades, which were forged from steel and later nickel bars. The first stage in development is to get rid of any grain boundaries at right angles to the centrifugal loading, which led to the development of blades that were cast so the metal crystals all ran from top to bottom. Later, this was optimised further by casting single crystals, with no grain boundaries at all. It’s a highly complex process: not only must the blades be cast with the internal cooling channels already in place, but the crystals are not homogeneous. Rather, zones of different composition and crystallographic structure exist within the blade. When nickel crystallises, it forms a structure known as face-centred cubic (fcc); each cube has a face with five atoms, one at each corner and one in the middle. When alloys are made, generally the atoms just swap in and out of the fcc lattice. But under the right conditions, aluminium and nickel combine in such a way that nickel goes to the centre of the faces and aluminium to the corners. This is known as a precipitate; it forms islands of greater order within the bulk of the alloy, about half a micron in dimension, packed closely together in a rectilinear formation. Because the size of the lattices of the precipitate and the less ordered bulk alloy are almost identical, they are all part of the same crystal. 1 Like |

Gentleman choose your words correct like '"cease sales" or "copy" ."100% copy'" ,iPhone6 not cease sales not change their high price they rise the price and deliberately delay the sales ,despite many"wanna be"products in Chinese market.many Chinese consumer buy from Japan or USA Australia for lower price and low tax.(pic 1.2). if no parts the same it is not "copy".no product contains actual iPhone parts. same as humvee's case, civilian version been evaluated and reverse engineer ,US stops the export any parts to China, but China aleady can make without US parts.no parts the same with humvee even the engine. You may use the word 'origin', but definitely not 100% copy. F-22 F-35,could not be copy, but some materials like carbon fiber China already can make. However some people may still wannna smuggle some US carbon fiber banned for export. some may say copy.look at the material of WS-17 and AL-222-25 , the workmanship, which part is the same ? just the size and function or shape similar .can be called a copy ? www.nairaland.com/attachments/4260296_pq_jpeg03bfc82283d81ed28ce9a2f8b9b64ddf www.nairaland.com/attachments/4260300_eb_jpeg1f668ca0902de16ab05e2e46417e6d26 USA wanna have technology monopoly to influnce other countries policy ,but not China. 3 Likes

https://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htproc/articles/20101130.aspx A South African firm (MLS, Mobile Land Systems) is selling China eleven MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles. But the sale includes the transfer of technology, for a fee. The South Africans insisted on this, and the Chinese went along. The Chinese complied because they knew that the South Africans were aware of the Chinese tendency to just steal such technology http://www.jamiiforums.com/threads/china-stealing-african-technology.42191/ |

andrewza: I must not say those article is 100% fake .but still has many flaws.
Zeiss Co is a german company, the fact is many African weapon subsystem contains Western Technology. So if the technology belongs to others. It can be obtained from many other souces or channels including but not nececerily limited to"buy", "leak" or"steal".. China or any other none western county not nececerily need to ask or employ some people to steal some technology. some individual or bulglar group may want to illeally get and sell them for money. they can automatically find buyer. Such is the case that Isreal found F-16 engines stolen.they could be sold to anywhere any country as long as buyer have money.no matter 2nd hand 3rd hand http://www.geek.com/news/several-f-16-jet-engines-stolen-in-israel-1531649/feed/ As for MRAP technology .Had China not bought from SA, it could get from elsewhere, like Russia or Ukraine. In fact the western technology embargo to China is almost failed already.EU is dicussing to lift the arms trade ban. UK aleady leaves the EU. German company MTU is considering to cooprate with China to jointly develop a jet engine for commercial use. Russia just signed a contract with China to co-develop a Boeing 787 size commercial plane with 35 tons thrust engine to compete with USA and Airbus 1 Like |

chinese8107: South African division. It came around due to our submarine purches. We gave a requirement for a perscope that the Germans thought impossible. Since then we have had a partnership. We have a SA division of SAAB, Rhiemtall, and several other companies. Face the music your home country is a nation of thieves and criminals and all CCP members should be burnet alive Sure go get substandard MRAP tech. |

andrewza:you have been brain washed deeply by the US or western media. sure you have your own version of SAAB, Rhiemtall, you also have some of your own technology.but can not change the fact mainly rely on the WEST.without US or German MTU engine your fighter cannot fly, submarine cannot dive. calling China theaft? even now you have shown no direct evidence but based on some report or media assumption. I 'v read the al-jazza version of inteligence of the South Africa reactor's story.what media is it? who do they speak for ? China can help UK build HinkleyPoint C nuclear power plant why she must steal South Africa reactor's technology instead of cooperate ? Then what about your reactor now?still operational ? China can cancel zimbabwe $40 million debt. why she can not buy some MRAP technology. do you think USA is the moral model ..any other westen country never source technology from outside country by any means? Have you heard about the mig-25 story in 1976 flying to Japan ? understandable.Because SA has aleady choosen to"standing on one side". 2 Likes |

gentlemen please follow rules of the thread or take it elsewhere. no personal name calling or name calling of nations. discuss as much as u want on weapon systems , tactics , technology etc but dont forget to be responsible for ur behavior. do not forget reality that "everybody here is a internet warrior" , if anybody has a point /capability to prove he/she better do it in real life where it will matter. let the fighting / points of conflict be resolved by the respective countries military / political leadership / industry / judiciary rather than by us in forums. lets not be delusional , a reality check will do all of us a lot of good. a win or loose of opinion in a blog/forum is similar to being in a fools paradise, no need to loose sleep over it. get real please 1 Like |

chinese8107: You do know the CCP spends millions to shuff there propagander through western media outlets And so what the ships you sold to Nigeria use MTU engines South Africa has not denied the leak has been false. And evidence was provided your blind patriotism means you ignore it The pebble bed reactor was a new reactor and SA did not take it any farther due to costs. And who said you cant buy technology, buy it all. But you guys steal not buy You are from china not USA. SA does not like America either. The mig was flown by a defector and said Mig had a lot of western tech in it the USSR stole. SA stands on the SA side. |

nemesis2u: It is just the way the world works. Everybody steals from everybody. Weren't the US recently caught spying on the Chancellor of Germany and the Brazilian president? The thing is Spies who get caught stealing are put to death in some countries or sent to life imprisonment in other countries. It doesn't negate the fact theft occurs across the board on a massive scale. 3 Likes |

andrewza: SA not deny the leak.but Does it declear officially China is responsible This technology is not competitive, otherwise, why not SA build its plant in UK or South America or anywhere else with this technology to earn some money? but instead shut down it's own plant. China and France bulit UK reactor plant without any SA technology. |
