If its a thing He does Regularly, is Gonna be fired!
But if it is just my first observation after He has been working for 6-8month, I would ask about his welfare and if the need is that his body needs some rest, then he would a day off or two, and if he's sick a week off, but that is if there is another person to cover up for him! Although his salary would still be intact!
We are all humans either worker nor the Boss!

Nature respects no one.. Op... Even you can be found wanting when nature calls.. Its just involuntary. . Or will you say those sleeping while driving do so on purpose... See beyond a security man catching a nap man.. There could be a responsible family man working day and night to keep his family fed. We cant all have that white collar job..
Now to answer your question. . i will let him have a lil nap while someone else relieved him and warned him against future occurrence

I went to one establishment (won't mention name) in Abuja today and saw this security guy having a nap. I Spent about 15 minutes in one of the offices and he was still sleeping until I left.

Why was he sleeping on duty?
Was it because of an unpaid salary?
Or he was tired of the job?

What would you do if you were his boss and caught him sleeping on duty in a big establishment like that?

His job schedule is to monitor people with cars and i believe you came without a car.

the recession must have caused the company to dismiss some staff. he may be working double shifts day and night.

There should be no excuse for incompetence and if I am his boss I would fire him right away so he can go home and sleep well. For goodness sake the aim of employing him as a Watch dog to crime lovers has already been defeated. The OP could have easily walked out of the establishment with a laptop unnoticed and with no record of ever being there cos d watchman was at sleep.

I believe for you to have taken pictures of him sleeping, you would have fired him if you had the power to,and since you have decided to put it here, and his boss sees it and sacks him, I am sure you will be delighted too

Most security works at night because that's when their attention is needed, so if he had gone all night without sleeping and you still expect him to function during the day, then you are mistaken. Security work is a shift work and it's high time we obey labour law.

Don't mind all of them talking rubbish. A security man is sleeping on duty and they are making excuses for him. But they are in that company and their car or personal item gets stolen due to the security man's negligence, they will be the first to shout and curse the guy out.

As a security man who is tired and feeling sleepy, just talk to you boss jeje about not feeling too well so that they find a replacement for him for that day instead of sleeping like a donkey.

If to say na so nigerian soldiers dey sleep up and down, the whole country for don bomb finish.

That guy is not a security man, he is a bloody gateman and so long as there is no vehicle coming in or going out, he is at liberty to sleep. You call him a security man when he does not even wield a baton let alone firearms.

Abeg free the guy jo
